Porsche Asia Pacific has unveiled the new Taycan in Southeast Asia with an electrifying event at Singapore’s Pasir Panjang Power Station. The updated Taycan features enhanced performance, increased range, and a striking design overhaul. A standout moment was the surprise World Premiere of a bespoke Taycan Turbo S ‘Celestial Jade’, a unique creation by Porsche Exclusive Manufaktur.
The launch showcased seven variants of the Taycan, including the new Cross Turismo body type. The event transformed Pasir Panjang Power Station into a high-energy space with a runway-style reveal and experiential zones highlighting the Taycan’s new features. The surprise unveiling of the one-off Taycan Turbo S Celestial Jade, created in collaboration with Porsche Asia Pacific and Sonderwunsch, added a special touch, reflecting the vibrant character of Southeast Asia.
“With the new Porsche Taycan, we are not just leaping forward in terms of performance and charging, we are also setting a new benchmark for all-electric sports sedans. We will create a one-of-a-kind experiences with unique privileges and events, making sure the Porsche ownership journey is unlike any other,” said Mr. Hannes Ruoff, CEO Porsche Asia Pacific at the launch.
“With this spectacular launch event, we cap off a year of remarkable milestones for Singapore, and with our first-ever Sonderwunsch one-off, the Taycan Turbo S Celestial Jade. We mark our second World Premiere in Singapore this year, and pay tribute to this vibrant region in close collaboration with Porsche Exclusive Manufaktur.” Mr. Ruoff continued.
The New Taycan
Available in Singapore as both a sports sedan and the adventure-oriented Cross Turismo, the updated Taycan boasts a refined design. Enhancements include new front and rear styling, updated headlights with HD matrix technology, and an optional illuminated Porsche logo.
Performance Improvements
The new Taycan benefits from a more powerful rear electric motor, offering 80 kW more than its predecessor while being lighter. This results in faster acceleration, with the Taycan achieving 0-100 km/h in 4.8 seconds, and the Taycan Turbo S completing it in just 2.4 seconds. The ‘Push-to-Pass’ function in the Sport Chrono package provides a temporary boost of up to 70 kW for quicker overtaking.
Extended Range and Faster Charging
The Taycan now features a larger Performance Battery Plus with a 105 kWh capacity, increasing its range by 35% to up to 678 kilometers. The standard battery (89 kWh) offers a range of 566 kilometers. Charging has also improved, with DC charging capabilities up to 320 kW and an 18-minute recharge time from 10% to 80% despite the larger battery.
Enhanced Equipment and Comfort
All updated Taycan models come with adaptive air suspension as standard. The Porsche Active Ride suspension, available for all-wheel-drive versions, provides a balance between comfort and performance. Standard features now include Porsche Intelligent Range Manager, 14-way adjustable seats, Power Steering Plus, and a BOSE Surround Sound system.
Celestial Jade Taycan Turbo S
The bespoke Taycan Turbo S ‘Celestial Jade’, a collaboration with Porsche Exclusive Manufaktur, represents Porsche’s highest level of customization. The car features a unique Chromaflair paint blend, including “Urban Bamboo” and “Shifting Carbon” colors, inspired by jade’s cultural significance in Asia and the innovative spirit of Porsche.
World-First Paint and Design Elements
The Celestial Jade features a blend of Chromaflair paints, a labor-intensive process involving around 80 hours of handwork. This paint shifts colors depending on the angle of view, and is applied not only to the car body but also to the rear model designation and key fob cover. The Taycan also sports a custom ‘LongMa’ logo, symbolizing power and auspiciousness, and carbon-weave finish components that match the Chromaflair paint.
Bespoke Interior Options
The Taycan Turbo S Celestial Jade introduces “Leather to Sample,” offering extensive customization options for interior colors. The car features a combination of standard Slategrey and the bespoke Englishgreen leather. The “Leather to Sample Plus” option allows for nearly unlimited color choices, further enhancing personalization.
