The BMW XM is already a special car. It’s not like the M badged models from BMW that were production cars tuned for higher performance, no. This one was made by BMW M from the ground up. The last time they made one was in 1978 with the M1. As if being one of two isn’t special enough, BMW M made it even more powerful.
Enter the BMW XM Label Red, simply the most powerful BMW in the lineup. It has a TwinPower Turbo V8 engine matched with M HYBRID Plug-in System that together unleashes 748 hp and 1,000 Nm of torque. It allows this massive beast to sprint from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.8 seconds.
The fourth-generation 8-speed M Steptronic transmission sends power to all four wheels via M xDrive All-Wheel Drive. It has a rear-bias for more exciting dynamics. There’s also a selectable 4WD Sand Mode for off-road challenges and an electronic rear differential for tricky maneuvers on any terrain. It also has a 25.7 kWh battery that allows the XM Label Red to move with electric power only, good for 76-82 km and can be charged in 4.25 hours.
The BMW XM Label Red is not only unique in its performance, but aesthetics too. It’s available in an exclusive Frozen Carbon Black metallic paint that’s complemented by Toronto Red accents. On the exterior, this is applied on the border of the grille, the outline of the windows, spokes of the 22-inch light alloy wheels, and on the rear diffuser. There’s also an interplay between gloss and matte finish on the car’s exterior creating a captivating and special aesthetic. The illuminated grille makes it known you’re driving the most powerful BMW even at night.
The cabin of the XM Label Red exudes luxury without sacrificing functionality for the driver. They will have a very engaging time here thanks to the M-specific content on the BMW Widescreen Display, heads-up display, M gear selector level, and M-specific control panel on the center console. A separate M Hybrid button is there for choosing your desired operating mode for the XM Label Red, while the Setup button gives direct access to the settings of the powertrain, chassis, steering, braking, and M xDrive drivetrain, including the level of regenerative braking to be applied.
The XM Label Red also features the latest iteration of the BMW iDrive System that replaces the traditional readings in the digital instrument cluster. This is accompanied by the BMW Intelligent Personal Assistant that responds to natural language commands that allows you to control different vehicle functions, adjust the air temperature, or even recommend nearby points of interest thanks to integration with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
In front of the driver is the M leather steering wheel with black chrome, plus M buttons and gearshift paddles with carbon inlays and plus and minus details in red. The left hand paddle shifter also has the XM Label Red exclusive Boost Mode.
There are carbon fiber accents on the dash and on the center console. An ‘XM’ badge sits below the control display, with a badge saying “1 of 500” placed under that as well. Most of the buttons can be found on the center console leading to a clean layout on the dashboard, finished with ambient lighting in key areas.
Sportiness is just one part of the story of the XM Label Red’s cabin. The other side of it is luxury that’s perfectly exemplified on the Sculptural Headliner. This three-dimensional prism structure has 100 LED units for illumination. It gives various lighting designs such as a welcome scenario. It can be customized to match the individual’s preference and driving atmosphere.
Complementing that are diamond-shaped sections on the upper backrests and integrated head restraints of the driver, front passenger, and outer rear seats are adorned in red. Red contrast stitching is done throughout the cabin including the center console and door trims.
The rear is an exclusive M Lounge with its generous space and high-quality materials. The heated backrests extend to the sides of the cabin and are clad in Merino leather with red contrast stitching and “XM” badge give passengers luxurious levels of comfort. Together with the sculptural headliner, the dark windows, and comfort cushions, the rear of the XM Label Red creates a novel feeling of space.
Other luxury appointments are the 4-zone automatic climate control, Bower & Wilkins Diamond Surround Sound System with 1,475 watt amplifier and 4 speakers in the roof area, as well as Travel & Comfort package are included in the XM Label Red.
Despite its focus on performance and luxury, BMW M didn’t overlook safety in making the XM Label Red. It comes with a comprehensive suite of Advanced Driver Assist System to make every drive safe. From Automatic Emergency Braking and Lane Departure Warnings to Intelligent Cruise Control with Stop-and-Go functionality, the XM Label Red anticipates all kinds of hazards for a stress-free adventure.
This is on top of standard safety bits like Dynamic Stability Control, Airbags including Head Airbags for 1st and 2nd rows, Tire Pressure Monitoring, and Crash Sensor. Parking is also easier thanks to the Parking Assistant Plus System that includes a 360-degree camera and 3D eye view.
The BMW XM Label Red retails for PHP 18,890,000 and comes with a 5-year warranty. A BMW Wallbox Charger will also be installed in the customer’s home free of charge.
