The Metro Manila Skyway Stage 3’s Plaza Dilao ramp is set to be opened before the end of July, the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) announced on Friday.
DPWH Secretary Mark Villar said that the Plaza Dilao ramp, which will add another four kilometers to the existing alignment of Skyway, will be opened to motorists within this month.
“The Construction of Skyway Stage 3 is on full blast. We are working 24/7 to deliver the infrastructure this July,” Villar said.
The DPWH Secretary said that the 18.68-kilometer elevated expressway, which will be “substantially completed” within the year, will cut down travel time from Buendia in Makati City to Balintawak in Quezon City from two hours to just 15 to 20 minutes.
“Section 1 from Buendia Avenue in Makati City to Quirino Avenue in Nagtahan, Manila is now 83 percent completed, while Section 3 from Ramon Magsaysay Avenue to Balintawak is 81 percent completed,” Villar added.
The DPWH Secretary said that other portions of the project are being “fast-tracked” in order to meet its target completion date which is expected in the first quarter of 2020.
The Metro Manila Skyway Stage 3 stretches across Metro Manila and will be composed of eight access ramps/interchanges which are situated along Buendia Avenue, President Quirino Avenue, Plaza Dilao, Nagtahan/Aurora Boulevard, E. Rodriguez Avenue, Quezon Avenue, Sgt. Rivera St, and NLEX.
