Official Jaguar Land Rover importer and distributor Coventry Motors Corporation is “redefining the standard” in the country’s luxury SUV segment as it recently ushered in the all-new Range Rover Evoque.
Ever since it made its first appearance back in 2010, the Range Rover Evoque’s distinctive feature is said to have transformed the world of compact SUVs. Now, the new iteration of the luxury SUV offers a plethora of enhanced features and modern amenities.
“Underneath the skin is an engineering and technical revolution. The new chassis makes the most of the stiffer body, ensuring the characteristic ride comfort and refinement of a Range Rover. The Evoque is now smarter than ever. The software that sits behind our infotainment system has been refined to provide a more intuitive customer experience,” said Nick Rogers, executive director for product engineering of Jaguar Land Rover.
The all-new Evoque is created with Land Rover’s new Premium Transverse Architecture that makes it wider and longer, paving the way to accommodate the necessary components for both plug-in and mild hybrid systems.
“We are very proud to bring to the Philippines the all-new Range Rover Evoque, which offers refinement and comfort required for modern city living while still providing all-terrain capability our customers expect from a Land Rover. I’m confident that our Filipino customers will rediscover the joy of driving with the all-new Evoque,” said Christopher Ward, president of Coventry Motors Corporation.
The Evoque’s exterior design emulates the Land Rover’s instantly-recognizable appearance, sporting a reductive design approach that fuses modernity and timeless design.
The luxury SUV’s distinctive fast roofline and rising waist are amplified by its prominent shoulders and powerful wheel arches, illustrating a strong and dynamic attitude. Its 20-inch wheels and premium super-slim front and back LED headlamps are said to add another layer of sophistication.
The characteristic door hinges, which have been preserved through the years of iterations, are designed with aerodynamic flush door handles that provide the luxury SUV with a smooth and sculpted aesthetic, while the rear part of the vehicle has a striking black accent that generates a sense of visual width.
The all-new Range Rover Evoque offers increased small-item stowage and 22mm extra rear kneeroom, thanks to its 100mm longer wheelbase. While tablets, handbags and bottles can be fitted with ease inside the larger glove box and center cubby. With 10-percent larger luggage space, the Evoque can easily accommodate two suitcases side-by-side or a set of golf clubs. The space can be increased to 1,383 liters when the 40:20:40 second-row seats are folded.
Aside from being wider and longer, the all-new Range Rover Evoque is also taller which enables the compact SUV to wade through water levels of up to 600mm.
The latest iteration also comes with a variety of all-terrain technologies such as Hill Descent Control, Gradient Release Control and All-Terrain Progress Control. These go with active safety features such as Lane Keep Assist, Autonomous Emergency Braking (for R-Dynamic HSE units only) and Driver Condition Monitor that are available to keep occupants safe.
The Evoque is also the first in its kind to offer a Mild Hybrid Electric Vehicle (MHEV) variant that can produce 300ps with to the help of 48V battery which regenerates energy from braking then acts as an additional boost for the 2.0-liter petrol engine.
Navigating through tight spaces or difficult terrain shouldn’t be a problem with Evoque’s ClearSight Ground View technology which provides the driver with a 180-degree view under the front of the vehicle by projecting camera imagery onto the upper touchscreen. While the ClearSight Rear View transforms the rearview mirror into an HD video screen. Should the rear visibility be blocked with passengers or baggage, a simple flick of a switch on the underside of the mirror will display what’s behind the vehicle, providing a wider field of vision and superior visibility even in low light.
The all-new Range Rover Evoque variants are priced as follows:
The all-new Range Rover Evoque will also be offered in a Black Limited Edition for the three R-Dynamic models, for an additional P100,000. Purchase of the all-new Evoque comes with free five-year service. The vehicle is available for reservation and a test drive at All British Cars located at 1008 EDSA, Greenhills, San Juan City.
