Eyes deeper industry and government collaboration
The Philippine Parts Makers Association(PPMA), led by its President Ferdinand Raquelsantos, has extended its congratulations to the Chamber of Automotive Manufacturers of the Philippines, Inc.(CAMPI) following the election of its new board and officers for 2026, headed by newly elected President Jose Maria Atienza.
Atienza, Executive Vice President of Toyota Motor Philippines, succeeds Atty. Rommel Gutierrez, who served as CAMPI president for the past 14 years. With more than 35 years of experience in the automotive industry, Atienza brings deep institutional knowledge and leadership experience, having held key roles across Toyota Motor Philippines, particularly in marketing, and as president of the Toyota Makati dealer group.
Joining Atienza are CAMPI’s newly elected officers for 2026: Atty. Rhys Alexei Murillo of Nissan Philippines as Vice President, Robert Carlos of Isuzu Philippines Corporation as Corporate Secretary, Victor Vinarao of Mitsubishi Motors Philippines Corporation as Treasurer, and Atty. Louie Soriano of Honda Cars Philippines as Assistant Treasurer.
CAMPI marks 30 years of commitment to supporting the Philippine automotive industry as a socially responsible association that works closely with government and industry stakeholders to promote sustainable economic growth and a viable, self-sustaining automotive sector.
“PPMA firmly believes that a strong and collaborative partnership between CAMPI and PPMA is critical to the continued growth of the local auto parts manufacturing industry,” Raquelsantos said. “With this new and dynamic leadership, we look forward to strengthening our working relationship and aligning our priorities for industry development.”
Beyond its engagement with CAMPI, PPMA emphasized that it remains keen on working closely with the Philippine government and other stakeholders to help address long-standing industry challenges, improve policy coordination, and strengthen the local automotive manufacturing ecosystem. This includes ensuring that local parts makers are well positioned to support both conventional vehicle production and the industry’s broader transition toward newer mobility technologies.
PPMA expressed confidence that closer coordination among CAMPI, PPMA, and government agencies will help reinforce the domestic automotive value chain, protect local manufacturing capabilities, and support long-term industry competitiveness and inclusive growth.
