Five students were injured after a Nigerian driver hit them as they were crossing a street in Las Piñas City Thursday morning.
A Facebook post by Mayet Sandoval Timbas includes CCTV footage catching the moment of the incident.
In a police report, a Honda Civic driven by 41-year-old Jeorge Ouli hit the students in Brgy. Pamplona 3.
The vehicle then crashed against a motorycle owned by Jurjen Belarmino.
Ouli was immediately arrested and now at the custody of the Las Piñas police.
In an interview, Las Piñas City police chief Simnar Gran said Ouli has faced inquest proceedings Friday afternoon.
“The fiscal will now make a resolution and once it will released, we will find out how much his bail will be,” Gran said.
Ouli is facing five counts of reckless imprudence and damage to property.
Police added that the Nigerian national may face deportation. However, the punishment slapped should be completed first. – With Ralph Edwin Villanueva/STAR
