Nissan unveils new Kicks e-POWER at the 2026 BIMS

Nissan unveiled the heavily refreshed Kicks e-POWER at the recent Bangkok International Motor Show (BIMS), with its arrival in the Philippines expected in June.

While retaining the current model’s platform, the new Kicks e-POWER gets a noticeable glow-up on the outside, complemented by meaningful upgrades inside. Nissan’s ProPILOT advanced driver assistance systems also make an appearance, while the brand’s e-POWER technology is retained.

Toshihiro Fujiki, President of Nissan Thailand and ASEAN, said, “Today is a proud milestone for Nissan. We introduce our fourth e-POWER model. This time, it is engineered and produced here in Thailand. This shows our strong belief in local manufacturing, and our focus on customers in Thailand and ASEAN. Built for people with urban lifestyles, the all-new Nissan Kicks e-POWER empowers drivers to live life to the fullest and enjoy every moment.”

For the front end, Nissan’s signature V-Motion grille comes in a more three-dimensional form, reinforcing the vehicle’s confident road presence. A modernized lighting signature featuring slim upper beam headlamps delivers enhanced illumination, while the three-arrow separated DRLs add a sharp, contemporary accent. Along the sides, the Kicks also gets an updated styling for its 17-inch alloy wheels.

At the rear, the design takes on a clean approach, with a straight parting line and uncluttered rear panel. Completing the look are the iconic hexagon-shaped rear lamps, creating a distinctive night-time signature.

The interior combines modern touches with rich tech upgrades: a larger 12.3-inch infotainment display and a 7-inch TFT digital instrument cluster with a digital speedometer. It also offers seamless connectivity through wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, as well as USB and Bluetooth, plus a wireless charger for keeping devices powered. Additionally, a newly designed front console, center console, door panels and a synthetic leather-wrapped steering wheel add a refined touch to the cabin.

In terms of comfort, the Kicks features Zero Gravity seats with anti-heat synthetic leather, especially useful for warm climates like the Philippines. The driver benefits from a 6-way power-adjustable seat and an Intelligent Rear View Mirror that provides a clear, unobstructed view. Meanwhile, the rear passengers get a slightly increased seatback angle, larger headrests, and a center armrest with dual cup holders.

The Kicks is equipped with Nissan 360˚ Safety Shield, featuring advanced driver-assistance technologies. New for this model is the ProPILOT intelligent system, designed to reduce driving stress on highways. This includes Lane Keeping Assist with Intelligent Cruise Control and Stop and Go to keep the vehicle centered in its lane while maintaining a preset speed and safe distance from the vehicle ahead.

As mentioned earlier, the Kicks continues to use the same e-POWER system. Its electric motor produces 136hp and 280Nm of torque, paired with a 1.2-liter DOHC 12-valve 3-cylinder engine that acts as a generator to maintain efficiency. Together with the 2.06-kWh lithium-ion battery, the system delivers smooth, responsive acceleration and strong performance for a more engaging and enjoyable drive.

Driving enjoyment is enhanced by Nissan’s unique e-Pedal Step. When the driver lifts their foot off the pedal, the vehicle immediately slows down, making it easier to maintain distance, drive downhill, approach speed bumps, and enter corners with more confidence. It also regenerates electricity back into the battery during deceleration.

The Kicks is available in three variants — V, VL and SV — and six exterior colors: Electric Cyan, Gray Sky Pearl, Storm White, Radiant Red, Gun Metallic and Black Star. A two-tone option with a black roof is also available on VL and SV grade for a more distinctive look. The interior is elevated by the Moonstone color option, available on the SV grade, while other grades feature a sleek black and dark gray combination.

While pricing for the Philippines is not yet available, the new Kicks e-POWER is priced in Thailand at 839,000 baht for entry-level V variant, 899,000 baht for the midrange VL, and 929,000 baht for top-of-the-line SV. At current exchange rates, that would put the V variant at roughly PHP1,500,000. The current Nissan Kicks ranges from P1,179,000 to P1,499,000.
