Porsche PH amplifies electrified lineup with E-Hybrid plug-in models

Porsche Philippines is charging up its electrified model strategy with the introduction of the new Panamera 4 E-Hybrid sport luxury sedan, complementing the Porsche Cayenne E-Hybrid SUV in the lineup. As Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicles (PHEV), the models redefine performance and luxury by fusing these with high levels of efficiency.

Panamera 4 E-Hybrid

In its latest version, the new Panamera 4 E-Hybrid offers a longer electric driving range, faster charging speed, improved throttle response, and even more dynamic performance.

The new PHEV model merges an updated hybrid system with a significantly improved 2.9-liter V6 twin turbo gasoline engine. Combined, the electric motor and engine produces 470 hp and 650 Nm of torque. The output enables the car to accelerate from zero to 100 km/h in 4.1 seconds and reach a top speed of 280 km/h. When driven exclusively on electric power, the new Panamera 4 E-Hybrid can now travel for up to 96 kilometers (WLTP).

A completely upgraded electric motor can recuperate up to 88 kW, contributing to the new Panamera 4 E-Hybrid’s significantly increased electric driving range. Providing energy to the motor is a new 25.9 kWh high-voltage battery.

Further making the new Panamera 4 E-Hybrid more efficient are its four optimized driving modes, as well as the improved Sport and Sport Plus modes.

Defining the new Panamera 4 E-Hybrid is an athletic, fresh design. The model’s front is characterized by matrix LED headlights with a bolder profile, which are matched by an additional horizontal air intake. Distinguishing the rear of the car are taillights that continuously sweep across the contours of the body, as well as a frameless rear window neatly integrated into the arcing slope of the roofline.

Cayenne E-Hybrid

Just as innovative is the new Cayenne E-Hybrid, in which a revamped power unit allows for a longer driving range, higher system output, and shorter charging times. A new, more powerful electric motor is complemented by a bigger battery, enabling the vehicle to travel longer distances exclusively on electric power, and a new on-board charger that significantly cuts charging times.

Completing the new Cayenne E-Hybrid’s power unit is a 3.0-liter V6 gasoline engine. Together with the electric motor, the power unit makes 470 hp and 650 Nm of torque. The output can accelerate the vehicle from rest to 100 km/h in 4.9 seconds and let it reach a 245 km/h top speed. If driven on electric power alone, it can travel up to 86 kilometers. An adaptive air suspension system guarantees a supremely comfortable and controlled ride in any condition.

The new Cayenne E-Hybrid is marked by a front end with edgier HD-Matrix LED headlights, a sculpted hood, and fenders that are more sharply pronounced. Found in the rear are Porsche’s signature design touches like the sweeping taillights, three-dimensional Porsche lettering, and prominent roof spoiler.

Like any Porsche, the cockpit of the new Cayenne E-Hybrid has a driver-focused layout in which controls and functions directly related to driving are placed on, or immediately next, to the steering wheel. The assistance systems lever is on the left side of the steering wheel while the gear selector lever is on the right. Directly in front of the driver is the fully digital 12.6-inch instrument panel offering variable display options. Also fitted as standard is the 12.3-inch central Porsche Communication Management (PCM) display that provides access to infotainment, convenience, and vehicle functions.
