Following its initial reveal at the Philippine International Motor Show in World Trade Center last June, Chery Auto Philippines welcomed members of the motoring and lifestyle media, content creators, and EV community at the Chery QEV Media Ride & Drive, giving them an immersive, behind-the-wheel experience of its newest all-electric vehicle ahead of the nationwide start of sales.
The Chery QEV, which has a retail price of Php 1,068,000, is the latest addition to the growing number of electrified hatchbacks whose general body styling is reminiscent of a Mini Cooper. Hence it is more a hatchback than a crossover, offering a truly car-like driving experience coupled with the packaging versatility of a crossover.

The event was designed to bring the Chery QEV’s Joy on Q philosophy to life. Through thoughtfully curated activities, engaging drive experiences, and lifestyle-inspired vehicle displays, participants discovered how the Chery QEV seamlessly fits into modern Filipino lifestyles while making electric mobility smarter, easier, and more enjoyable.
The day’s activities began at the UAAGI Center for Technical Excellence in Valenzuela City, where members of the media toured the company’s Parts Warehouse and Training Facility. The visit highlighted UAAGI’s 20 years of experience in automotive service, showcasing its technical expertise and aftersales capabilities, and reinforcing its commitment to providing dependable support throughout every Chery QEV ownership journey.
Guests received a comprehensive product briefing and explored specially customized Chery QEV units, which served as a preview of Chery’s upcoming Aftersales Customization Program. Designed to encourage creativity and self-expression, the program gives future owners the opportunity to personalize their Chery QEV and truly make it their own. From outdoor adventures and creative pursuits to weekend getaways and everyday activities, the customized vehicles showcased the QEV’s versatility and its potential to become a truly personal expression of the people who drive it. Complementing the displays was the vehicle’s Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) capability, demonstrating how it can power external devices and support life’s moments beyond the road.

Participants then embarked on a 173-kilometer drive from Valenzuela to Clark aboard a fleet of 15 Chery QEVs, experiencing the all-electric vehicle’s performance, comfort, and efficiency in real-world driving conditions while showcasing its capability for longer journeys beyond the city.

“As we get ready to make the QEV available soon in our network of Chery dealers nationwide, we aim to make electric mobility more accessible and worry-free for more Filipinos,” said Franz Decloedt, Chery Auto Philippines Brand Head.
“The QEV Media Ride & Drive was designed to let our media partners experience the Chery QEV beyond its specifications. We wanted them to discover how naturally it fits into different lifestyles, whether it’s for daily commutes, weekend escapes, content creation, or simply making everyday drives more enjoyable,” said Joshua Sytin, Deputy Director for Sales of Chery Auto Philippines.

Throughout the journey, guests experienced the Chery QEV’s effortless driving character, combining instant electric torque, sporty rear-wheel drive dynamics, responsive handling, and a remarkably quiet cabin. Its 2,700mm wheelbase provides generous legroom for a comfortable ride, while independent front and rear suspension deliver superior ride quality across different driving conditions. Offering up to 405 kilometers of driving range (NEDC) and DC fast charging, the Chery QEV gives drivers the confidence to take on both daily commutes and weekend getaways with ease.

Inside the minimalist cabin, the Chery QEV impressed with thoughtful features, including a 15.6-inch 2.5K Ultra HD touchscreen powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8155 processor, Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a 50W wireless charger, intelligent voice controls, and 38 cleverly integrated storage spaces, including an underseat compartment and a 70-liter front trunk. Safety and convenience are further enhanced by a Level 2 Advanced Driver Assistance System and a 540-degree Around View Monitor.

The day’s activities concluded with a Kapampangan lunch at Binulo Restaurant, where members of the media shared their impressions of the drive with the Chery Auto Philippines team.
Chery Auto Philippines is now accepting reservations for the QEV through its authorized dealerships nationwide, as the model moves closer to its nationwide retail rollout. Interested customers may visit their nearest Chery dealership to reserve their QEV ahead of deliveries.
