2nd phase of Cavitex work begins

The second phase of Cavitex Infrastructure Corporation (CIC)’s road enhancements along Manila-Cavite Expressway (Cavitex), which includes the widening of bridges in Parañaque, Wawa, and Las Piñas, is now underway.

This comes after the completion of the first phase which involves the opening of the southbound flyover and the left-turning lane towards Pacific Drive leading to D. Macapagal Avenue to motorists in December 2018.

CIC president and general manager Bobby Bontia assures motorists will “feel the ease of passage” along Cavitex once the project is finished.

“Once we complete the second phase of this project by Q4 of 2019, we will be able to make more room for motorists plying Cavitex, especially now that our traffic volume has increased by nine percent since January 2019. Our traffic management plans are in place, we will be deploying marshals in areas under construction,” Bontia said.

Meanwhile, motorists utilizing Cavitex are encouraged to switch to Easytrip RFID for faster transaction at toll plazas. Aside from the removal of requirements, the RFID sticker is being given for free.

Easytrip has also enabled the interoperability of the Autosweep RFID in CAVITEX, NLEX, and SCTEX. While motorists who have Autosweep account can enroll their account in any Easytrip customer service station situated along any Metro Pacific Tollways Corporation toll roads.

The Cavitex is part of a road network being expanded by the Metro Pacific Tollways Corporation, it will connect to the 7.7-kilometer C5-Southlink which will traverse Taguig, Las Piñas, Parañaque, and the 45-kilometer Cavite-Laguna Expressway which connects at Kawit and will traverse Imus, Governor’s Drive, Aguinaldo Highway, Silang, Sta. Rosa, Laguna boulevard until Mamplasan, Biñan, Laguna.

CIC is an MPTC subsidiary and a concessionaire of Cavitex.
