VF E-Motorcycles’ IP67-rated powertrain makes its 2-wheel EVs suitable for flood-prone PH road conditions

VinFast E-Motorcycle, the two-wheeler division of fast-rising BEV brand VinFast, announced that its newly launched battery-powered motorcycle lineup is built with an IP67-rated powertrain, designed to withstand flood-prone roads in the Philippines. On top of its growing dealerships, ambitious battery-swapping network, and financial options that make e-motorcycles more accessible to Filipinos, this cutting-edge two-wheeler powertrain engineering underscores the brand’s commitment to usher in a new era of Philippine mobility.

Officially launched in the Philippine market on July 31, the IP67-rated Evo, Feliz II, and Viper make Filipino riders feel at ease as they traverse through monsoon-season flooding, waterlogged roads, and occasional potholes and craters.

An IP67-rated powertrain can withstand dust exposure and water submersion of up to 30 minutes. VinFast Evo, Feliz II, and Viper are built with a motor and MCU, two critical components of the electric powertrain, that carry an IP67 protection rating. According to VinFast’s internal testing, its product lineup can withstand submersion in 0.5 meters of water for 30 minutes, as well as 30 minutes of driving through water at the same depth.

This engineering also ensures that no dust can enter the motor of the VinFast e-motorcycle, keeping its internals safe from tiny debris and fine particles. Likewise, the rating gives riders peace of mind that their e-motorcycle remains safe in heavy rains, splashes, and spills.

Ensuring a holistically Philippine-ready ride, VinFast electric motorcycles’ batteries are likewise engineered with impact protection in mind, intentionally designed by the brand to meet European ECE-R136 safety requirements. This feature can be particularly relevant for everyday riding in the Philippines, where potholes, uneven surfaces, bumps, and other road impacts can place repeated stresses on a vehicle over time.

VinFast additionally tested its e-motorcycles against simulated demanding environmental conditions, including a 500-hour salt spray test to assess corrosion resistance in high-humidity and harsh-weather environments. Meanwhile, the batteries feature overvoltage and overtemperature protection and have passed VinFast’s internal durability tests at temperatures of up to 80°C.

Together, these measures are designed to support safer, more reliable operation across the Philippines’ hot, humid, and rainy conditions. These layers of protection reflect engineering built for how Filipinos ride. The IP67-rated powertrain is designed to reduce the risk of damage when riders unexpectedly encounter heavy rain or flooded roads. As the brand continues building a greener, more accessible mobility option for Filipinos, this kind of protection gives riders more confidence to make the switch to electric, especially during the rainy season.

Across the Evo, Feliz II, and Viper, VinFast combines protective engineering with the range, performance, and support needed for everyday riding. All three models can use up to two removable 1.5 kWh LFP batteries. With two batteries, the Evo produces up to 5,200W, reaches 80 km/h, and travels up to 150 km. The Feliz II raises the top speed to 90 km/h with up to 145 km of range, while the sportier Viper combines similar performance with features including a TFT display, smart key, anti-theft protection and vehicle tracking.

VinFast also backs its e-motorcycles with warranty coverage of up to six years or 72,000 km, while purchased batteries receive the same coverage. For subscribed batteries, coverage continues throughout the subscription period

At the brand’s grand launch, VinFast inaugurated 21 e-motorcycle dealerships in a single day, with plans to expand the network further.

Thanks to the lower running costs of electric powertrains, VinFast estimates that riders could save 17-28% in total ownership costs over five years compared with similarly positioned gasoline motorcycles, depending on the model and ownership option.

As the brand’s network grows, so will its commitment to every Filipino rider. The IP67 rating, robust build, and added layers of protection prove VinFast’s sincere commitment to providing Filipinos a greener and smarter mobility future, making the brand a true two-wheel mobility partner of every Filipino rider.
