Right on cue: GAC unveils the GS4 MAX HEV at introductory P1.218M

After launching 3 MVP MPVs, and a few weeks after a competitor unveiled their new hybrids, GAC launched their new offering. The GAC GS4 MAX HEV is the brand’s latest hybrid crossover aimed for those who like more value for their money. This is a size bigger than their popular Emzoom, but has an introductory price of only PHP 1,218,000.

The GS4 Max immediately stands out among GAC’s lineup with its more contemporary design. Unlike the Emzoom and Emkoo, it’s not as future-forward but still modern in every angle. The front end is adorned by Qilin-inspired fascia, Qingyun Ladder matrix grille, and Morning Star LED headlights. It complements that look with modern amenities like electric hidden door handles, Intelligent High Beam Control, and rain-sensing wipers.

GAC went the other way with the interior of the GS4 Max. It’s far from contemporary and has a lot of tasteful accents with the classy blend of silver on the black interior theme. There’s also an “extra-large” panoramic sunroof that occupies the whole vision of the occupants, even those at the back. They also assure of “zero pressure” as their seats are very ergonomic with focus on lumbar and back support.

Creature comforts are also covered well. Leading the list is the 10.1-inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, 7-inch digital instrument cluster, 50w Wireless Charger, with cooling, Automatic Aircon, Rear Air Vents, 6-way Powered Driver’s Seat, and Keyless Entry System.

Powering the GS4 MAX is a 2-liter Atkinson Cycle engine with 2-speed Hybrid Transmission, paired to a 2.1 kWh battery. It has Pure Electric, Hybrid, Direct Engine Drive, and Energy Recuperation modes. The engine is capable of 232 HP and 300 Nm of torque, which combined can make the GS4 MAX go up to 1,250 km.

Safety is also covered well. The GS4 MAX has Dual Front, Side, Second Row Side, and Side Curtain Airbags. There’s Hill-start Hold Control, Hill Descent Control, Electronic Stability Program, Tire Pressure Monitoring System, and Traction Control System. It also has Surround View Camera System, Adaptive Cruise Control, Autonomous Emergency Braking, Forward Collision Warning, and Lane Keep Assist.

“With the introduction of the GS4 MAX HEV, we are thrilled to offer modern Filipino families a high-value hybrid SUV that balances practical comfort, reliability, and exceptional efficiency,” said Calvin Cheng, General Manager of GAC Philippines. “As we expand our SUV portfolio alongside the EMKOO, GS3 EMZOOM, and GS8, the GS4 MAX HEV reinforces our commitment to providing uncompromised mobility solutions designed to elevate everyday life for growing households across the country.”

Reservations for the new GAC GS4 MAX HEV are now open at GAC dealerships nationwide. It has one variant priced at PHP 1,298,000 but you can enjoy its introductory pricing of PHP 1,218,000 until September 30, 2026. It will be available in Planet Silver, Hoary Grey, and Crystal White colors.
