4 years after it was first launched in the country, Nissan finally gave their game-changing hybrid a fresh new look. Apart from that, it also went into some revisions under the sheet metal. There’s a lot to dissect so to make things more simple, here are the key things that are new with the 2027 Nissan Kicks.
Sleek new look
The 2027 Nissan Kicks has a bold new face. They did away with the chrome strips for the V-motion grille and in its place was a more subtle application. The Automatic Full-LED headlight assembly was also separated from the Triple Arrow DRL for a more distinct look.
The rear also received a big update. It’s more monolithic than curvy and the taillight has been simplified to a narrow strip of LED. The plate has been repositioned to the rear bumper while the tailgate now has a KICKS lettering badge at the center. Body color panels also give contrast to the rear bumper.
Inside, the dashboard was revised on the center section. The vents now sit higher, while the bigger 12.3-inch touchscreen is now a floating type. The corner vents were also re-shaped while the center console amenities have remained mostly the same.
New variant
The Nissan Kicks also had three variants during its original launch in 2022. Now, they still have three but moved up in amenities. There’s no more “basic” model and instead, they introduced a new LE Plus trim along with the VE and VL.
This new LE Plus has key advantages too. It has Roof Rails, Moonstone colored leather upholstery with Heat Guard, Tonneau Cover, and Wireless Charger.
Bolstered tech
Nissan Intelligent Mobility was already present in the Kicks before, but it was more of a core set of functions. It already had an Around View Monitor with Moving Object Detection, Forward Collision Warning, Emergency Braking, Driver Attention Alert, and e-Pedal Step.
Now there’s additional Lead Car Departure Notification, Lane Departure Warning, Lane Intervention, Blind Spot Warning, Blind Spot Intervention, Rear Cross Traffic Alert, High Beam Assist and more for a total of 12 additional bits. The LE Plus trim gets Nissan ProPilot that has Traffic Jam Assist and Lane Keep Assist, as well as Intelligent Rear View Mirror, and Rear Automatic Emergency Braking.
Apart from that, the LE Plus gets NissanConnect services that gives you control over your car just with your smartphone. It has My Car Finder, Remote Engine Start, Automatic Collision Notification, and Theft Alert among others.
Standard Safety has also been improved. Rear camera is now standard, with higher trims get additional Rear Sensors. There’s also now a Tire Pressure Monitoring System, Brake Assist, and Traction Control along with the Vehicle Dynamic Control.
Powering the 2027 Nissan Kicks is the same e-POWER system as before. It has 136 PS and 280 Nm of torque. The engine is still exclusively charging the batteries while the electric motor is the only one moving the wheels. This is why the Kicks gives an EV-like driving experience while being a self-charging hybrid.
The new Nissan Kicks starts at PHP 1,499,000 for the VE, PHP 1,649,000 for the VL, while the LE Plus is at PHP 1,749,000. It will be available in Aquamarine Metallic, Gun Metallic, Pearl White, and Moon Pearl Gray. A Black Roof is also available exclusively for the LE Plus trim.
Also unveiled was the Kicks by Quiccs made by contemporary artist Quiccs. It builds on the ongoing partnership between the brand and the artist, bringing together automotive design and Filipino creativity.
