Brace yourself for the new traffic normal — until Tuesday, said the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH).
The agency warned motorists and commuters against what it called “monstrous” traffic in Metro Manila until Tuesday as several portions of EDSA and other major roads are undergoing road repairs.
The DPWH said in an advisory that road reblocking resumed on Friday night on EDSA as well as repairs for other major roads expected to be completed on or before 5 a.m. on Tuesday.
Among the areas that are undergoing repair works are the first lane on the southbound lane of Bulacan street to Philam and from Magallanes-Balcaran bus stop up to the outer lane of the Magallanes-Alabang bus stop.
The agency also said that it will also desilt and construct a manhole from Eugenio Lopez Drive to Scout Borromeo on EDSA as well as the first northbound lane of the Main Avenue to P. Tuazon.
“Reblocking activities will also be undertaken at the southbound directions of Circumferential Road 5, from CP Garcia Bridge approach B; Taguig City, fronting Palar Village; and Katipunan Avenue, after Boni Serrano tunnel to P. Tuazon street, truck lane,” the DPWH said.
Reblocking will also be implemented along the inner eastbound lane of Quirino Highway, from Theresa Heights to Belfast, as well as the Elliptical Road’s seventh lane before Commonwealth Avenue.
DPWH advised motorists to take alternative routes. – With Jose Rodel Clapano/STAR
