Mober wins gold for leading green logistics in the Philippines at KMC Startup Awards 2024

Mober, a frontrunner in green logistics services in the Philippines, has been honored at the 2nd KMC Startup Awards for its groundbreaking work in transforming the green logistics industry through electric vehicles (EVs). The company received two awards during the gala night on November 15, 2024, including the Gold Sustainability Award.

As transportation emissions in the Philippines are projected to quadruple by 2050, Mober has made significant strides in promoting sustainability through its innovative commercial EV logistics solutions. By operating a fleet composed entirely of EVs, Mober eliminates tailpipe emissions, improves air quality, and promotes the shift towards a more sustainable transportation ecosystem.

In addition to its environmental initiatives, Mober is committed to inclusivity by training female drivers and assemblers, highlighting the company’s dedication to workforce diversity. Mober’s Green Delivery Specialists (GDS), its EV drivers, exemplify the company’s high standards of service and sustainability.

Mober also took home the bronze for Growth Champion Award, recognizing its rapid expansion and significant milestones in scaling green logistics in the country.

Mober started in 2015 and is now helping small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) adopt sustainable practices by offering EV rentals for their logistical needs. Despite economic turmoil due to the pandemic in October 2021, Mober transitioned its fleet to EVs and has since become a business-to-business (B2B) platform facilitating sustainable delivery for some of the Philippines’ retail giants such as IKEA Philippines, SM Appliance Center, Nestle Philippines, and Nespresso, as well as renowned logistics companies Maersk and Kuehne+Nagel.

This year, Mober attracted significant investments to fuel its rapid expansion and sustainability initiatives. The company secured a $2 million seed funding round led by RT Heptagon Holdings and an additional $6 million investment from Clime Capital under the Southeast Asia Clean Energy Facility II (SEACEF II), bolstering its plans to expand its fleet of EVs to 238 units and helping to establish a new 3,000-square-meter charging facility by early 2025.

As part of its rapid expansion, Mober has extended its operations beyond Metro Manila, establishing a strong foothold in key cities across the Philippines, including Cebu, Davao, Iloilo, Cagayan de Oro, and most recently, Legazpi. With a 100% EV fleet, Mober now supports IKEA Philippines’ growth while addressing the rising demand for sustainable logistics services. By bringing eco-friendly solutions to these strategic locations, Mober continues to lead the way in green logistics and drive the transition to a carbon-free future across the nation.

“These recognitions are a testament to our relentless drive to innovate and lead the logistics industry toward a sustainable future. At Mober, we believe growth and sustainability go hand in hand, inspiring us to work even harder toward a greener Philippines and beyond,” said Mober Founder and CEO Dennis Ng.

Mober stood out among the record-breaking 300+ entries from over 100 startups across fintech, agritech, logistics, healthcare, and construction at this year’s KMC Startup Awards.

The KMC Startup Awards, now in its second year, has become one of the most prestigious platforms for recognizing the most innovative and forward-thinking startups in the Philippines. Organized by KMC Solutions in partnership with Philippine Startup Week, Ideaspace | QBO, Kaya Founders, Web3PH, and Uniquecorn Strategies, the event capped off Philippine Startup Week 2024, which ran from November 11–15.

These accolades follow Mober’s inclusion in Forbes Asia’s 100 to Watch list, which recognizes companies and startups across the Asia-Pacific region that have achieved steady growth.
