The country’s number 1 automaker is once again shaking up the auto show circuit with expansive displays at the ongoing twin shows—the 1st Philippine International Truck Show (PITS) and the 14th Philippine Electric Vehicle Summit (PEVS)—both being held on October 22-24 at the SMX Convention Center in Pasay City.

Making its first appearance at PEVS, Toyota presents its different mobility options to cater to different customer lifestyles at the twin events. Visitors at PITS will see Toyota unveil its newest Tamaraw conversion, the Tamaraw MPUV. While at the PEVS, showgoers get to see and experience Toyota and Lexus electric vehicles up close. Test drives will be available during both events where customers can try out Toyota’s wide range of vehicles.

As a leader in electrified technology in the Philippines, Toyota is showcasing its brand of electric mobility with proven quality, durability, and reliability (QDR) through the widest lineup of electrified vehicles consisting of hybrid electric vehicles (HEVs) and battery electric vehicles (BEVs). Visitors can expect to learn about Toyota’s pioneering efforts in introducing EVs to Filipinos.

Multiple Toyota electrified vehicles are on display at the brand’s booth, including the bZ4X BEV, Hilux BEV, Zenix HEV, and Corolla Cross HEV. For Lexus, on display are the ES HEV and Lexus RZ BEV. For customers looking to test drive Toyota’s electrified offerings, there will be more than ten of their electrified vehicles from their wide lineup of electrified cars.

“We have been pioneering electric vehicle technology in the country since we locally introduced the Toyota Prius back in 2009. Many Prius units are still being used today, a testament to the longevity of Toyota’s EVs and quality, reliability, and durability. When customers choose to start their EV journey with Toyota, we can guarantee the peace of mind and seamless after-sales services to all our customers,” said TMP Marketing Division Senior Vice President Sherwin Chua-Lim.
New Tamaraw MPUV debuts at 1st Philippine International Truck Summit

Positioned as a “National Car,” the next-generation Tamaraw MPUV, Toyota’s newest Tamaraw conversion, will be unveiled to the public at PITS. The Tamaraw MPUV is set to bring Toyota’s quality, reliability, and durability to the public transportation sector.

First previewed at Toyota’s Santa Rosa manufacturing plant, the Tamaraw MPUV is a culmination of Toyota creating a public transport vehicle that listens to the needs of transport operators, local government units, and government offices. The addition of the MPUV conversion is Toyota’s commitment of a vehicle for the transport sector that is built by Filipinos, for the Filipinos.

“The Tamaraw truly is a blank canvas, taking different forms to help people realize their dreams. We are happy—and proud—to build it… Through the Tamaraw MPUV, let us bring our strengths together to make everyday life better—for commuters, transport operators, and communities. That is how we want to contribute to the Philippines: by delivering something people can use, depend on, and truly value in their daily lives,” shared Toyota Motor Philippines President Masando Hashimoto.

Alongside the unveiling of the Tamaraw MPUV, Toyota will be displaying multiple conversions of the Toyota Tamaraw. Customers will get the chance to see Tamaraw Freezer Van, GL Dropside, Utility Van, Food Truck, and Fire Truck conversions of the iconic workhorse. Additionally, the Tamaraw Utility Van and GL Dropside will be available for public test drives for customers.
Toyota’s presence in both this year’s PITS and PEVS highlights its diverse vehicle lineup of cars ranging from fuel-efficient internal combustion engine vehicles (ICEs) to full EVs. The brand’s lineup allows it to cater to customers with different lifestyles, ensuring that there is a Toyota for everyone.
