The EX30 also sourced materials with about 25% of its aluminum and 17% of its steel being recycled. Additionally, 17% of the plastics and renewable materials like denim, flax, and a wool blend containing 70% recycled polyester are used, the highest percentage in any Volvo car. Volvo also employs blockchain technology to trace critical raw materials such as lithium and cobalt, ensuring responsible sourcing.

This design is complemented by responsible manufacturing. The EX30 is built in a factory powered by high levels of climate-neutral energy, including 100% climate-neutral electricity. Optimized production through high material utilization in stamped body parts marks the EX30 as one of Volvo’s most efficient manufacturing achievements.
