The BYD Shark 6 DMO is a hybrid pickup truck whose size puts it in the exact same category as the popular pickups from Japan and America. It comes only as a 4×4 with an automatic transmission and has a retail price of Php 2,098,000 for the Advanced variant and Php 2,298,000 for the Premium variant.
The new Shark hybrid pickup was officially launched by BYD Cars Philippines, a subsidiary of ACMobility, last Friday at the Aseana open grounds—and it’s nothing less than a gamechanger in the Philippine pickup truck segment.
Designed for adventure seekers and those looking for a mix of rugged capability and modern technology, the Shark 6 DMO delivers an electrified experience that combines power, efficiency, and versatility.

Hybrid tech
At the heart of the BYD Shark 6 DMO is its revolutionary Dual Mode Off-road (DMO) technology, which gives the truck an unparalleled blend of power, driving refinement, and efficiency. This technology allows the Shark 6 DMO to effortlessly switch between electric and fuel power modes to adapt to any driving condition.
Powered by a 29.6kWh BYD Blade battery and a 1.5T onboard generator, dual electric motors help the Shark 6 DMO produce an impressive combined output of 435 ps and 650 Nm of torque—making it one of the most powerful pickups in its class.

Bold styling and a cutting-edge chassis
Built upon the Cell-to-Chassis framework, the Shark 6 DMO uses the proprietary Blade Battery as an integral part of the vehicle’s ladder frame and safety structure, enhancing the Shark’s rigidity and safety.
Its bold, muscular stance is highlighted by a commanding front grille that showcases the BYD mega symbol, LED headlights, and connected daytime running lights. Sleek, clean lines that enhance aesthetics and performance give the Shark 6 a strong and commanding presence. A full-width LED strip running along the tailgate connects the rear taillights, making the Shark stand out especially at night. Two-tone 18-inch alloy wheels, standard for both variants, complement the modern styling by emphasizing its off-road readiness.
Tough and versatile
Designed for both rough terrain and cityscapes, the electrified “lifestyle” pickup boasts a 230 mm ground clearance and a 700 mm wading depth, allowing it to traverse challenging landscapes with ease, from uneven off-road paths to flooded streets. And with a payload capacity of 835 kg and a towing capacity of 2,500 kg, the Shark 6 DMO is well-suited for many adventures that require hauling gear and cargo.
For improved stability and ride comfort, the Shark 6 DMO is equipped with front and rear double wishbone suspension, a combination not normally found in pickups. This provides a smoother riding experience whether on straights or corners, on or off the road.
The Shark 6 DMO also offers three drive modes – Eco, Normal, and Sport – and multi-terrain modes like Sand and Mud, to adapt to various driving conditions and preferences.
Premium, feature-packed cabin
Inside the Shark 6 DMO, the cabin blends premium materials with a minimalist design, with leather seats accentuated by striking orange highlights affording a smooth ride. Comfort is prioritized with a 6-way power-adjustable driver seat and 4-way lumbar support in the Premium model, allowing for a customized driving position. Seat heating and ventilation for the two front seats are standard in the Premium trim.
Rear seatbacks in the backseat are reclined by 27 degrees. Along with the cabin’s expansive knee-room, this seating configuration ensures a more relaxing posture for rear passengers over long drives.
At the heart of the modern yet functional interior is a 12.8-inch rotating touchscreen display that seamlessly integrates with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Both variants come equipped with an 8-speaker sound system, providing an immersive audio experience that takes advantage of the cabin’s low noise, vehicle, and harshness figures.
Safety and comfort
The BYD Shark 6 DMO is equipped with a wide range of standard safety features, including Cruise Control, a 360-degree View Camera, Front and Rear Sensors, Vehicle Dynamic Control, Hill Hold Control, Hill Descent System and a Tire Pressure Monitoring System. The Premium variant elevates safety further with Adaptive Cruise Control, Automatic Emergency Braking, Blind Spot Detection, Lane Departure Warning, and a Heads-Up Display.
First-time BYD customers who complete their purchase of a BYD Shark 6 DMO by March 31, 2025 will be entitled to a Php 50,000 discount. While current BYD owners who purchase a Shark 6 DMO until the end of March will receive an additional Php50,000 discount for a total of Php100,000 discount. The same maximum discount of Php 100,000 will also be applied to customers who were referred by existing BYD owners.
The Shark 6 DMO comes in three color options: Deep Sea Blue, Cosmos Black, and Aurora White. It also comes with an impressive warranty: an 8-year or 160,000 km warranty for the BYD Blade battery, an 8-year or 150,000 km warranty for the drive unit, and a 6-year or 150,000 km warranty for the vehicle.
