Instead of another car, this time it’s a whole new brand. After a successful 2025, one where BYD sold 26,122 units and grew 446% from previous year, they brought in their more premium sub-brand – Denza – into the Philippines. With them are three cars and there are already dealers in place. So what can you expect from this new name in the game?
Denza started off as a collaboration between BYD and Daimler AG (Mercedes-Benz Group). Their first car is an EV crossover with 300-500 km of range (depending on the trim) which was followed up by the Denza X which was available as a Plug-In Hybrid and Battery Electric powertrains.

“Across Asia-Pacific, we’ve seen strong momentum for DENZA as more markets embrace premium new energy vehicles. That experience gives us confidence in the Philippines, where consumers are increasingly sophisticated and ready to engage with a brand that combines intelligent technology with refined design and comfort,” said Liu Xueliang, General Manager of BYD Asia-Pacific Auto Sales Division.
When I went to China last year, I saw some of the technologies that Denza has to offer. There’s the e3 platform that integrates their cell-to-body structure with the motor system and suspension for a more cohesive driving experience. It’s available for both EV and DM-i models.
You can also expect better ride comfort as they have DiSus Adaptive Suspension system. Some models also have heightened safety thanks to God’s Eye or their Level 2+ Advanced Driver Assistance System. Even the cabin is souped up with AI to help you with the in-car digital experience.

For the Philippine market, Denza is bringing in 3 vehicles for their initial lineup. They have 2 SUVs and 1 MPV for you to choose from.
Let’s start off with the B5 SUV. This is a plug-in hybrid that uses a dual-motor system and can have an output up to 677 horsepower. That power can go the distance of up to 1,200 km combined, while cradling you in a plush cabin with off-road capability.
While the B5 is a midsize SUV (think of the Monteros and Fortuners), the other SUV – the Denza B8 – is a full-size SUV (Land Cruiser). It boasts of more than 700 horses and can also eke out 1,200 km of combined range. Under the car is also a hydraulic suspension with 140mm of travel and self-levelling capability.
If you think the BYD eMAX9 is already top tier, wait until you see the Denza D9. It offers a quiet cabin experience even at the speed limit, while hugging you in comfort with its 10-way power adjustment, captain seats, 6-way sleep headrest, and 10-point massage. This is available as a Plug-in Hybrid or a battery EV.
So far they haven’t released a finalized spec for the units coming into the country. These are all based on their global releases so until then, just hold on to the edge of your wallet.
“Our role in the Philippines is to build DENZA the right way – with leadership, clarity, and long-term intent. We’re not here simply to introduce vehicles, but to establish a premium brand that Filipino customers can trust and grow with over time,” said Adam Hu, Country Head of BYD and Denza Philippines.
Denza has already inked its first set of dealers too. There will be Denza Alabang and Denza Cebu by ACMobility Premium Dealership Inc.; Denza Makati by Harmony New Energy Auto Service (Philippines) Ltd. Corp.; and Denza Greenhills by E-Vantage Motors Inc.
Hu also shared that they will further expand their dealer footprint this year. Alongside that, they will also introduce a wider portfolio of New Energy Vehicles gradually across different segments.
Denza isn’t the first Chinese brand that’s trying to break into the luxury car market. However, with a big momentum coming from their parent company’s local operations, expectations are indeed high if they can make a dent in the segment dominated by European and American brands, but lead by a Japanese brand.
