The Porsche Taycan Turbo GT with Weissach Package has set a new Nürburgring-Nordschleife lap record for electric executive cars, completing the legendary 20.832-kilometer circuit in 6:55.533 minutes with the newly developed Manthey Kit. Driven by Porsche development driver Lars Kern, the lap time was more than nine seconds quicker than the previous record in the category and 12 seconds faster than the Taycan Turbo GT’s own previous benchmark set in 2023.
The achievement also marks the first time Porsche and Manthey have developed a dedicated circuit-focused kit for an all-electric Porsche sports car. Previously reserved for Porsche GT models powered by combustion engines, the Manthey approach now extends to the Taycan Turbo GT with Weissach Package, bringing extensive aerodynamic, suspension, and drivetrain enhancements designed specifically for track performance.
“With the new Manthey Kit, we are offering a unique upgrade for the Taycan Turbo GT,” said Kevin Giek, Head of the Taycan model line. “The project team from Manthey and Porsche succeeded in transferring the Manthey DNA into a kit for electric vehicles, culminating in an impressive new Nordschleife record.”
Developed jointly by Porsche engineers in Weissach and Manthey specialists in Meuspath, the kit significantly increases aerodynamic downforce and sharpens the Taycan’s dynamic capabilities. At 200 km/h, total downforce rises from 95 kilograms in the standard model to 310 kilograms, while total downforce at top speed reaches approximately 740 kilograms. The car’s top speed also increases slightly from 305 to 310 km/h.

Available in the Philippines are the Taycan rear-wheel drive Sport Saloon and Taycan 4 Cross Turismo. The Taycan Sport Saloon brings together purist design and Porsche E-Performance, combining everyday usability with the driving dynamics expected of a Porsche sports car. Meanwhile, the Taycan 4 Cross Turismo combines the strengths of the Taycan, including superior performance and long range, with increased versatility, additional headroom, and greater luggage capacity, making it a fully electric model designed for everyday use and adventure alike.
The Nürburgring achievement further reinforces Porsche’s continued development of electric performance technology, demonstrating how the Taycan platform continues to expand the possibilities of electric sports car performance.
