The prestigious award recognizes the Spark EUV as the benchmark for accessible, zero-emission mobility.
Hariphil Asia Resources, Inc. (HARI), the official distributor of Chevrolet in the Philippines, proudly celebrates the Chevrolet Spark EUV being named the 2026 Electric Car of the Year by the Inter-American Federation of Automotive Journalism (FIPA); one of South America’s most respected organizations representing automotive journalists and motoring writers.

The prestigious award was determined through a direct vote by automotive journalists from across the Americas, honoring the industry’s most outstanding vehicles across major categories. The award further reinforces Spark EUV’s position as one of Chevrolet’s leading entry-level electric vehicles, now available in more than eight markets across the region.
The Spark EUV has also demonstrated remarkable commercial success in Brazil, where it recorded more than 1,000 deliveries in April, a 70% increase from 628 units sold in March marking its strongest monthly sales performance to date in South America’s largest automotive market.
Designed for today’s urban lifestyle, the All-New Spark EUV combines distinctive modern-retro styling electric mobility. Its compact dimensions, agile handling, and vibrant color options make it an ideal companion for city driving, while its spacious cabin and digital cockpit deliver a comfortable and connected driving experience.
Powering the Spark EUV is a 75-kW permanent magnet synchronous motor paired with a 41.9-kWh Lithium Iron Phosphate (LFP) battery, producing 102 PS and 180 Nm of torque. It offers driving range of up to 360 kilometers (NEDC) and supports both AC and DC fast charging, allowing the battery to charge from 30% to 80% in approximately 35 minutes.
Complementing its electric performance is a comprehensive suite of advanced safety technologies, including Adaptive Cruise Control, Traffic Jam Assist, Lane Safety Features, and a 360-degree Panoramic Camera, providing drivers with greater confidence, convenience, and peace of mind on every journey.
“The Chevrolet Spark EUV’s recognition as the 2026 Electric Car of the Year by FIPA is a proud milestone that reflects Chevrolet’s commitment to delivering innovative, accessible, and customer-focused electric mobility solutions,” said Ms. Maria Fe Perez-Agudo, Vice Chairman, President, and CEO of HARI.
“This award affirms Chevrolet’s long-term commitment to shaping the future of mobility and vision of delivering intelligent mobility solutions that respond to the evolving needs of today’s drivers. As we continue to expand Chevrolet’s electrified portfolio in the Philippines, the Spark EUV demonstrates that sustainability, advanced technology, and everyday practicality can coexist. We are proud to bring this globally recognized electric vehicle to more Filipinos as we help shape a cleaner and smarter future of mobility,” Ms. Perez-Agudo concluded.
