GWM’s Chief Technology Officer highlights future of Intelligent Mobility in first PH visit

GWM Philippines welcomed Nicole Wu, Chief Technology Officer of Great Wall Motors, as she made her first official visit to the Philippines, marking a significant milestone in the brand’s continued commitment to advancing innovation and strengthening its presence in the local market.

A leading figure in GWM’s global technology development, Wu stands out as a female executive at the forefront of automotive innovation, working closely with Mr. Jack Wey, Chairman of GWM, in shaping the company’s long-term technology roadmap. Her leadership plays a critical role in driving the brand’s transformation into a global mobility technology company.

During her visit, Wu shared valuable insights on the future of smart technology in electric vehicles, emphasizing how intelligent systems and electrified powertrains are redefining mobility on a global scale. Her presence underscores GWM’s strategic direction to deliver next-generation vehicles that integrate performance, efficiency, and intelligent features for evolving consumer needs.

“The future of mobility is not just electrified, it is intelligent, adaptive, and built around real-world user scenarios,” said Ms. Nicole Wu. “At GWM, we are focused on developing technologies that seamlessly integrate into everyday driving, while delivering enhanced performance, safety, and efficiency.”

Central to this vision is GWM’s Intelligent New Energy portfolio, led by its advanced hybrid systems, from Hi4, Hi4-Z, Hi4-T, and Hi2, each engineered for specific driving needs while delivering enhanced efficiency and performance.

The Hi4 system is designed for urban environments, combining a dual-motor setup with a 2-speed series-parallel architecture to deliver 4WD performance with 2WD-level efficiency. This technology is featured in models such as the GWM Haval H7, one of the highlight vehicles introduced in the Philippines, offering a balance of daily driving comfort and all-weather capability.

For more demanding conditions, the Hi4-Z system is engineered for general off-road use, enabling intelligent power distribution between the engine and motors. Paired with a 3-speed transmission, it delivers strong terrain capability, extended electric range, and high performance.

Meanwhile, the Hi4-T platform is purpose-built for extreme off-road environments, featuring a non-decoupled 4WD system and a 9-speed parallel hybrid setup. This configuration ensures maximum traction, durability, and self-recovery capability in challenging terrains.

Completing the lineup is GWM’s Hi2 hybrid system, developed for customers prioritizing comfort, efficiency, and lower running costs. With a 2-speed architecture, a dedicated 1.5T hybrid engine, and a high-efficiency integrated electric drive, Hi2 delivers ultra-low fuel consumption, smooth driving performance, and extended range, making it ideal for everyday mobility.

Wu’s visit coincided with GWM Philippines’ participation in the Manila International Auto Show 2026, where the brand showcased its latest lineup and reinforced its positioning as a future-ready mobility provider.

As GWM continues to expand in the Philippine market, the company remains committed to delivering intelligent, electrified, and accessible mobility solutions tailored to the evolving needs of Filipino drivers.

Customers are invited to experience GWM’s latest innovations firsthand by visiting their nearest GWM dealership and scheduling a test drive.
