The country’s leading mobility company, Toyota Motor Philippines Corporation, introduces its Toyota Community Shuttle (TCS) program through a ‘libreng sakay’ (free ride) initiative in collaboration with the City Government of Pasay and City Government of Santa Rosa.
In its separate agreements signed with the two city governments, five (5) brand new and airconditioned Toyota Lite Ace units will be running on dynamic routes across each city, operational between 06:00 AM to 06:00 PM.
The TCS is set to provide free rides for a year starting December 1, 2023 in Santa Rosa City and December 2, 2023 in Pasay City.
“As part of the Company’s corporate social responsibility and in commemoration of TMP’s 35th anniversary, the TCS aims to demonstrate how Toyota can contribute to improving the Filipinos’ day-to-day mobility in these communities,” TMP president Atsuhiro Okamoto said.
The TCS also aims to provide the practical benefits of Toyota’s new mobility solutions through the ‘myTOYOTA Shuttle PH’ — one of the flagship service platforms by TMP’s mobility service arm, Toyota Mobility Solutions Philippines, Inc. (TMSPH).
The ‘myTOYOTA Shuttle PH’ allows an efficient on-demand shuttle management which streamlines route planning and seat booking process. Through a downloadable mobile application, commuters can easily book their ride using a personal device, monitor the real-time location of vehicle, and check arrival time.
“The TCS is not only helpful in creating a hassle-free ride experience for daily commuters but is also complementary to the local government’s sustainable city or ‘eco-city’ initiative, using such optimization and digital integration in intra-city transportation,” Okamoto added.
“These partnerships with the two dynamic cities will contribute to further enhancement of TCS’s future application, generating varied insights from a diverse range of users such as the working class, students, mall- and entertainment-goers, and even tourists.”
Santa Rosa City has a high number of employed individuals in manufacturing industries and is home to major export-processing zones such as the Toyota Special Economic Zone. Pasay City is a highly urbanized area with one of the country’s biggest shopping, entertainment, and business centers that attract diverse groups of people.
TMP celebrated its 35th year of incorporation in August 2023 with a reaffirmed commitment to economic and societal development through its automotive manufacturing and distribution business and mobility-related services.
Globally, Toyota envisions diversified and innovative solutions focusing on “Connected, Autonomous/Automated, Shared, and Electrified” or “CASE” concepts of future mobility.
