The Chamber of Automotive Manufacturers of the Philippines, Inc. (CAMPI) has announced its partnership with Angat Buhay, a non-profit non-government organization dedicated to uplifting communities across the country, to support their climate action and sustainability initiatives. As part of this collaboration, CAMPI has donated Php 500,000 to Angat Buhay to fund programs that aid disaster-prone areas and promote environmental resilience nationwide.
In a turnover ceremony led by CAMPI President, Atty. Rommel Gutierrez, the organization reaffirmed its commitment not just for climate change mitigation but also in adaptation and enforcement through partnerships with non-government organizations (NGOs) like Angat Buhay.
“We are very happy to partner with Angat Buhay in their efforts to assist different communities nationwide specially for climate change and sustainability initiatives. CAMPI has always been a strong advocate for environmental responsibility, and we believe that working with organizations like Angat Buhay allows us to make a meaningful impact,” said Atty. Gutierrez.
Angat Buhay and Its Climate Action Pillar
Angat Buhay is the one of the largest non-government, non-profit organization in the Philippines, dedicated to empowering communities through education, health, disaster relief, and sustainable livelihood programs. Under its Climate Action & Sustainability pillar, the organization implements initiatives that support climate-vulnerable communities by providing disaster resilience training, sustainable livelihood programs, and environmental conservation efforts.
CAMPI’s Commitment to Sustainability
As the premier association of automotive manufacturers in the country, CAMPI has consistently championed sustainability and environmental responsibility. A portion of the proceeds from the Philippine International Motor Show (PIMS) is regularly allocated to organizations that align with CAMPI’s advocacies, particularly in climate action and disaster response.
Beyond this, CAMPI’s member companies also implement their own environmental programs, ranging from carbon footprint reduction, tree-planting initiatives, and water conservation projects to sustainable vehicle production and electric vehicle promotion. This collective effort ensures that the industry plays an active role in addressing climate challenges.
“We are very grateful to the leadership of CAMPI for this partnership, as it will enable us to deliver various programs and much-needed assistance to disaster-prone areas and vulnerable communities across the country,” said Angat Buhay Executive Director, Mr. Raffy Magno.
Strengthening CAMPI’s Legacy of Giving
Over the years, CAMPI has supported numerous sustainability and disaster relief programs, reinforcing its commitment to corporate social responsibility. Through partnerships with NGOs, local government units, and industry stakeholders, CAMPI continues to drive meaningful change beyond the automotive sector.
