Omoda & Jaecoo Philippines is bringing their flavor of electrification to a more attainable bracket. The all-new J5 SHS-H was unveiled at the 2026 Manila International Motor Show and it starts at PHP 999,000. They even flaunted their technical innovation by having the brand’s state-of-the-art robot – AIMOGA – do the product reveal at the show.
The new J5 SHS-H is a subcompact crossover measuring 4,380mm long, 1,860mm wide, 1,650mm tall, with a wheelbase of 2,620mm. That makes it larger than other crossovers that are run by an internal combustion only in its price point.
At the core of the J5 is a 1.5T hybrid system that generates 342 horsepower and 525 Nm of torque, able to go from 0 to 100km/h in 7.9 seconds. Despite the high power ratings, the J5 is efficient with a claimed fuel economy of 23 km/l with a combined range of 980 km per full tank.
Like its siblings, the J5 has a boxy and minimalist silhouette. It was designed under the brand’s “Origin of Nature” philosophy and was built to enjoy moments outdoors. The front face has what they call a “waterfall front grille” complemented by “Mountain Road” light assembly. Together, they give the J5 SHS-H a unique look in its segment.
Its boxy frame led to more space in the cabin. It has class-leading 82.8% space utilization and has 35 storage spaces, making it a true “mobile sanctuary”. People like me who are sensitive to heat will appreciate the 1.45m panoramic canopy, covering the double-layer soundproof glass. There’s also antibacterial fabric seats.
Safety is led by its high-torsion body and a Level 2+ intelligent driving system that has 19 Advanced Driver Assist System functions.
The Jaeco J5 SHS-H will begin at PHP 999,000 for the Comfort trim, while the higher Luxury trim is at PHP 1,109,000. Country Director Marc Zhang also shared some Exclusive Launch Privileges for those who will get the J5 during the show:
