Audi signals return to supercars with new Concept C

Positioned in between the Audi TT and R8 model, the new Concept C is fully electric with a central-battery layout

Audi has unveiled the Concept C, a striking two-seat sports car study indicating the brand’s new design philosophy and its return to the kind of high-performance expression that defined the legendary TT and R8 supercar.

Announced as Audi’s “TT Moment,” the Concept C is positioned in between the TT and R8 model. The model is fully electric, underpinned by a central-battery layout with the pack mounted directly behind the seats. The layout results in balanced weight distribution and a low driving position, both key to delivering precision and control.

The Concept C is a two-seat coupe with a hardtop roof comprised of two elements that retracts electrically — a first for an Audi

This demonstrates Audi’s commitment to bringing its performance heritage into the era of electric mobility.

Defining the Concept C’s exterior are distinct proportions and pared down design elements.

As a two-seat coupe, it features a new hardtop roof comprised of two elements that retracts electrically — a first for an Audi. In front, the new vertical frame evolves the familiar Singleframe into an upright signature. Inspired by the Auto Union Type C from 1936 and the third-generation Audi A6 fro 2004, the vertical frame anchors the visual structure of the vehicle.

Inside, the Concept C is designed to reduce distraction through intuitive controls and a digital interface

Equally definitive of Audi’s design heritage are the Concept C’s headlights and tail lamps marked by four horizontally arranged elements.

Inside, the Concept C is designed to reduce distraction through intuitive controls and a digital interface that supports the driver’s complete focus on the road. The cockpit integrates a 10.4-inch foldable display that provides information only when needed, fitted with haptic physical controls on the steering wheel and center console for intuitive, distraction-free operation.

Made from anodized aluminum, the physical controls have a mechanical look and feel, engaging with the unmistakable “Audi click.”

The cabin also articulates Audi’s design language centering on clarity, and which blends seamlessly technology and design.

Currently on exhibit at IAA Mobility, the Concept C allows a closer look at Audi’s vision for next-generation supercars.
