Now With An RS Navi Variant
Honda Cars Philippines, Inc. introduced last week its 2018-model HR-V, which will now have an upscale 1.8 RS Navi variant.
Changes? The facelift starts with a new bumper, grille and full LED headlights (with Daytime Running Lights) that give the new HR-V a signature Honda front fascia to go with its coupe-like styling underscored by the design’s concealed rear door handles.
At the back, new LED taillamps give the HR-V a more futuristic styling while making it more visible on the road, especially at night. Complementing the changes are new 17-inch sport black alloy wheels.
Inside, the New HR-V retains its cozy coupe-like cockpit with its high center console. Toys? The 2018 HR-V receives a seven-inch touchscreen infotainment system now equipped with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity. The HR-V still boasts Honda’s brilliant ULT (Utility, Long, Tall) seats, which allow three different adjustment modes allowing customers to have flexible seat configurations.
Carryover Drivetrain With Eco Assist
Powering the HR-V is Honda’s superb 1.8-liter SOHC i-VTEC engine that produces 142ps at 6,500 rpm and 17.5 kg-m of torque at 4,300 rpm. Mated to a Continuously Variable Transmission (CVT) developed on Honda’s Earth Dreams Technology, the engine and transmission provide responsive performance, acceleration and improved fuel efficiency. Honda’s Eco Assist System, which consists of the ECON mode and Eco-Coaching Ambient Light, helps encourage fuel-efficient driving.
New RS Navi Variant
The new HR-V RS Navi, meanwhile, comes with an RS-design front honeycomb grille and LED foglights together with the new LED headlights. On the side, the HR-V RS receives dark chrome door handles and door trims and different two-tone 17-inch alloy wheels exclusively designed for the RS. At the back, smoked LED taillamps further enhance the sporty image of the HR-V RS.
Inside, the RS receives additional upgrades including a full leather interior (the previous HR-V had leather only at touch points) complemented with piano black accents on the steering wheel and center console giving the interior a premium upmarket feel. For the RS variant, the new seven-inch touchscreen now also comes with a navigation system as standard. Capping off the overall sporty package of the RS Navi, the Phoenix Orange Pearl color exclusively found in other Honda RS models, will now be available on the HR-V RS.
Safety
All variants are equipped with advanced and class-leading safety features like Electronic Parking Brake (EPB) with Auto Brake Hold, Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) with Electronic Brake-force Distribution (EBD) and driver and front passenger airbags, Vehicle Stability Assist (VSA) and Hill Start Assist (HSA).
