Toyota officially begins the sales of the all-new Toyota Hilux. The 9th generation of their iconic pickup sports a bold new face, an updated diesel powertrain across the lineup, and a new electrified trim for the eco-conscious among us.
The new iteration of the Hilux builds on its core strengths of being powerful, simple, and reliable — now made for the modern era. It combines off-road capability with on-road agility making it a car for those who want a rigid utility pickup with sporty dynamics.
Cyber Sumo design
The Hilux dons a new Cyber Sumo design philosophy for its exterior. Its toughness was made sharper and more sophisticated for a modern appeal. There’s C-shaped LED headlights flanking a wider honeycomb grille that’s more seamless with the fascia. The rear also gets a cleaner design with updated lighting and a new deck-side step for easier access to the pickup bed.
There are also design cues that make each variant unique from one another. The Conquest gets a rugged front bumper that’s perfect for customers who enjoy overlanding and outdoor adventures. The battery-electric (BEV) Hilux makes itself distinct with its solid, closed-off grille. It gives the HIlux BEV more aerodynamic efficiency and distinguishes it from its diesel siblings.
The diesel Hilux sits on a 3,085mm wheelbase providing a stable foundation for both on and off the road capability. The Conquest trim measures 5,320mm long, 1,855mm wide, and 1,865mm tall that is shared with the V MT, G, and 4×4 E trims.
The BEV variant also comes in at 5,320 mm and 1,855 mm in length and width, but is slightly lower at 1,845 mm. Ground clearance reaches up to 312 mm on all ICE variants and 287 mm for the BEV, giving the Hilux to maintain the off-road capability that has defined the nameplate through successive generations.
Modern cabin for the modern Hilux
Toyota employed a new driver-focused layout with improved ergonomics and utility for the Hilux. The infotainment systems have been upgraded with the Conquest and V having 12.3-inch Display Audio with Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, while the G and E trims have 8-inch Display Audio with wired AC/AA capabilities.
The Hilux Conquest gets upgraded materials, synthetic leather upholstery, and an 8-way Power Adjustable Driver’s Seat giving it a more refined feel that’s comparable to Toyota’s latest SUV offerings.
A similar 12.3-inch Display Audio can also be found on the Hilux BEV. It’s complemented with a Wireless Charging Pad and a Panoramic View Monitor. It also gets the leather upholstery and 8-way Power Adjustable Driver’s seat.
New powertrain lineup
All internal combustion trims of the all-new Hilux are now powered by Toyota’s 2.8-liter 1GD-FTV 4-cylinder Variable Nozzle Turbo diesel engine. It puts out 204 ps at 3,000 to 3,400 rpm while generating 500 Nm of torque while the MT trims produce 420 Nm.
The Hilux BEV sports a dual-electric motor for a 4×4 drivetrain capability. It has a combined output of 196 ps with the front wheels having 200 Nm and 269 Nm at the rear. The permanent electric All-Wheel Drive system delivers immediate torque distribution for improved traction and control across different terrain. It’s paired to a 59.2 kWh lithium-ion battery that gives the Hilux BEV up to 315 km of driving range.
Toyota has retained their tried and tested double wishbone front suspension and rigid rear axle with leaf spring setup at the rear. This makes the Hilux preserve its load-carrying capability while balancing with ride comfort in different road situations. Disc brakes on all four wheels are also available for the higher trims while rear drums are utilized for the entry-variants.
The V and Conquest also get new Electric Power Steering systems. Apart from being lighter, this reduces steering effort during low-speed maneuvers and helps with steering precision without compromising the pickup’s ability on rougher terrain.
The Conquest has also been enhanced with the addition of Multi-Terrain Select, allowing drivers to optimize vehicle performance across Dirt, Rock, Sand, Mogul, and Mud conditions. The Conquest is equipped with an Electronic Parking Brake with Auto Hold, a Panoramic View Monitor, seven airbags, and Toyota Safety Sense 3.0, which bundles advanced driver assistance technologies for improved safety both on and off the road.
Reflecting Toyota’s multi-pathway approach, the all-new Hilux BEV has been purpose-built for electric mobility while retaining the core attributes of the Hilux. It features a dedicated ladder-frame chassis engineered specifically for electric propulsion. It incorporates reinforced protection for the high-voltage battery and electric axle, allowing the pickup to preserve its high ground clearance, structural durability, and off-road capability even in demanding driving conditions. Additionally, it comes equipped with a shift-by-wire selector and Electric Power Steering (EPS) and Toyota Safety Sense 3.0
Preparing you for electrification
The Hilux BEV will come with a complimentary wall charger and home installation, allowing owners to charge at home conveniently. This allows for standard AC Type 2 and DC CCS 2 fast charging.
It’s also supported by Toyota’s growing network of authorized BEV dealers equipped with BEV charging stations. This includes Toyota Alabang, Commonwealth, Global City, Makati, Manila Bay, North EDSA, Pasig, Quezon Avenue, San Fernando Pampanga, Santa Rosa Laguna, La Union, Batangas, Mandaue South Cebu, and Toyota Mabolo. It ensures customers have charging access for their long-distance trips and BEV support in key locations nationwide.

Customers can choose from five exterior colors for the all-new Hilux ICE models: Ash (available only for Conquest & V), Attitude Black Mica, Super White II, Silver Metallic (available only for G & E). The Conquest and V variants will also be available in Emotional Red, serving as a premium color option. The Hilux BEV comes exclusively in Platinum White Pearl Mica.
