Expressways nationwide waive toll fee for all medical frontliners – Villar

As a way of showing support for their sacrifices amid the COVID-19 pandemic, Public Works and Highways Secretary Mark Villar announced that all expressways nationwide are now toll-free for all medical frontliners during the implementation of the enhanced community quarantine.

To avail of the toll-free privilege in all San Miguel Corp. (SMC) tollways which include STAR Tollway, South Luzon Expressway, Skyway, NAIA Expressway (NAIA-X), and Tarlac-Pangasinan-La Union Expressway, medical personnel need to secure a special RFID sticker from SMC tollways or have their existing RFID sticker converted.

Medical personnel only need to present their PRC license card to avail the RFID sticker at the temporary booths located at the Shell Magallanes station and NAIAX toll gate from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m.

As for the Metro Pacific expressways which include North Luzon Expressway, Subic-Clark-Tarlac Expressway, Cavite Expressway, Cavite Laguna Expressway, C5 South Link and NLEX Harbor Link, medical personnel are required to present their PRC license card at the customer service centers of Balintawak Toll Plaza and Cavitex before the Parañaque Toll Plaza beginning March 30, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

According to SMC and Metro Pacific, they are going to make the toll-free RFID stickers available in other major locations soon.
