The Highway Patrol Group (HPG)’s fourth most wanted person was arrested in Quezon City on Wednesday.

In a Facebook post, the HPG said that a warrant of arrest was issued against Clifford Bañares Taton in June 2019 by the Pasig City Regional Trial Court Branch 157.

According to HPG director Police Brigadier General Alexander Tagum, Taton eluded “all monthly amortizations [of] the vehicle he acquired through ‘assume-balance’ for more than three years.”

The HPG said Taton was apprehended after six months of “tracking and intelligence operations” in Pasig City, Parañaque City, and Quezon City.

The suspect is facing charges for violating Republic Act 10883 or the anti-carnapping law.
