Toyota Motor Philippines (TMP) has been aggressive with their electrified offerings lately. They usually “electrify” one car per year but this 2026, they already brought in 2 during the first quarter – the all-new RAV4 and the Urban Cruiser. As if not enough, they added one more to their portfolio at the 10th Philippine International Motor Show – the all-new Hilux.
The all-new Toyota Hilux beats its peers in the charts in providing an electrified pickup experience to Filipinos and a battery-electric (BEV) at that. It also maintained having diesel variants – and simplified them – while having distinct faces for each class.

Toyota has adopted a new “Cyber-Sumo” design philosophy for the all-new Hilux. It has a more sophisticated fascia with sleek headlights and a honeycomb grille. The BEV maintains this look, only it has a closed-off grille aesthetic with the same hexagonal shapes adorning its surface. The Conquest variant also features an exclusive rugged front-bumper that was said to be purpose built for overlanding. They also have a new rear deck step for easier access to the truck bed.

“Our multi-pathway approach is about giving customers the freedom to choose what car they want based on their lifestyle and needs. With the all-new Hilux, customers can experience the signature capability and utility of the Hilux through the improved ICE variant or the new BEV variant,” shared TMP First Vice President for Vehicle Sales Operations Elijah Marcial.
Powering the Hilux BEV are 2 electric motors. It has a total output of 196 horsepower and 469 Nm of torque. This is paired to a 59.2 kWh battery that gives it an estimated range of 315 km per full charge.

There’s only one variant for the Hilux BEV. It comes with all the bells and whistles like LED headlights with Auto-Levelling, 8-way Power Adjustable Driver’s Seat, Dual-Zone Climate Control, 12.3-inch touchscreen with Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, Wireless Charger, Panoramic View Monitor, Electric Power Steering, and the full suite of Toyota Safety Sense 3.0.
On the other end, the conventional Hilux has ditched the 2.4-liter and now comes standard with a 2.8-liter turbodiesel. It puts out 204 horsepower and has 420 Nm of torque for the manual variants, and up to 500 Nm for the 6-speed automatic.

The cabin also received an overhaul in style and function. They ditched the driver oriented aesthetic of the previous generation and made a dashboard layout that’s more balanced for the front occupants. The touchscreen is placed flat on the dash with the equal sized air vents below it, and they’ve put the cup holders in the center console at a more logical position – one that won’t block any buttons. There’s also additional cup holders at both ends of the dash, making it really ready for adventures or simple drive-thru. The finishing of the panels are also more matte leading to a quiet luxury look. And before I forget, thank you Toyota for retaining physical buttons in your new generation models.

The G and E grades get Hydraulic Power Steering, Manual Handbrake, 7-inch information display, and 8-inch touchscreen but with Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

The upper trims get Front and Rear Disc Brakes, Rear Differential Locks, Sportsbar, Leather Upholstery, Electronic Power Steering, Electronic Parking Brake, 12.3-inch touchscreen, and a 12.3-inch Digital Gauge Cluster. LED headlights with Auto Levelling and Panoramic View Monitor are available except for the E 4×2, while Data Communication Module and Remote Functionality are present in all variants. Some trims will also come with 7 Airbags and full suite of Toyota Safety Sense 3.0 like the BEV version.
Also making its debut with the all-new Hilux is the next-generation myToyota Connect. This links your car and smartphone to the Toyota system for improved safety and convenience. It’s accessible through the myToyota app and provides Remote Control functions, alerts, and 24/7 customer care.

myToyota Connect has three sets of functions. First is safety as it has Anti-Theft Alarm, Unplug Alert so you know if the Data Communication Module was removed from your car, Stolen Vehicle Tracking, Remote Immobilizer, Geofence that sets virtual boundaries so you’re informed if your vehicle has gotten out of your specified area, and Connected Toyota Insure that provides renewal premium discount for good driving behavior.
Second is Connected Convenience thanks to its Dashboard Status that lets you check fuel level and odometer from your smartphone, Statistical Driving Data, Trip History, Find My Car, Remote Check and Control for car doors, windows, lights, horn, and even adjust air conditioning before you enter the car.
Last is Connected Car that gives a Warning Notice/Warning History for your vehicle diagnosis, driving advice, and health check report. It also gives you access to maintenance schedules, book service, service reminders, and more. It also has a way to connect to 24/7 Customer Care when needed.
