Experience freedom and joy with the all-new Toyota Land Cruiser FJ

Toyota has reorganized the Land Cruiser lineup ever since the launch of the LC300 series. That big boy sits as the premium flagship SUV (which now has a hybrid version), while the Land Cruiser Prado is the “core” of the model – rugged, durable, and reliable, but more attainable. Now, they’ve added a cousin into the fold with the all-new Land Cruiser FJ.

The Toyota Land Cruiser FJ was created to make the Land Cruiser experience more accessible and friendly to drivers around the world. Toyota wanted a vehicle that would allow people with diverse lifestyles to unlock the freedom to go anywhere and enrich their lives with plenty of joyful experiences. This is why the Land Cruiser FJ was designed to be more compact, more affordable, and now Filipinos can reserve one for themselves.

Taking the FJ40’s iconic design into modern times, the Land Cruiser FJ has an upright silhouette with shaved off edges for a neo-retro look. Its wide stance, short overhangs, and optimal ground clearance to highlight its inherent 4×4 capability. The design also allows aftermarket suppliers to easily make accessories for the LC FJ to help customers tailor it to their liking and needs.

C-shaped LED headlights are standard, along with skid plates. The higher trim gets 18-inch alloy wheels, roof rails, and a side step.

Under the sculpted hood is a 2.7-liter naturally-aspirated inline-four gasoline engine that produces 166 horses and 245 Nm of torque. This is paired to a 6-speed automatic that sends power to all 4 wheels. It also has an Auto Limited Slip Differential, Differential Lock, Active Traction Control System, and Multi-Link suspension at the rear for better ride comfort. This applies to both variants of the LC FJ.

Inside, the LC FJ has a straightforward dashboard layout. The resulting horizontal line at the edge gives the driver a good sight of the vehicle’s posture while also providing plenty of forward visibility. Toyota also redefined the driver-center layout by putting physical buttons within the driver’s reach instead of putting things at an angle.

Standard across the two trims are leather upholstery, and the 7-inch TFT display cluster. The upper trim gets more soft-touch materials for the key contact points, 12.3-inch touchscreen, and 8-way Power Adjustable Seat for the Driver.

Along with its 4×4 capability and utility, the LC FJ didn’t overlook safety. It will come with a Rear Camera, the higher trim gets a Panoramic View Monitor, and the full Toyota Safety Sense 3.0.

“The Land Cruiser is an iconic name in Toyota’s lineup of cars, and the all-new Land Cruiser FJ is our next step in bringing the iconic nameplate closer to our customers. The all-new Land Cruiser FJ is a platform where owners can fully customize and express themselves by accessorizing the car with different parts, fitting for both the city and off-roading.” shared Elijah Marcial, TMP First Vice President for Vehicle Sales Operations.

The name LC FJ which means Land Cruiser Freedom & Joy, will now stand beside the LC300 and the LC Prado here in the Philippines. It reflects the spirit of adventure, versatility, and being ready for a wide range of lifestyles which is true for the Land Cruiser nameplate. It gives customers a new way to enjoy the Land Cruiser legacy in a tough, capable, and more compact form, and in a package built for modern-day exploration.

The all-new Land Cruiser FJ will come in two variants, with the TX available at Php 2,235,000 and the VX being priced at Php 2,575,000. It will come in colors that mix adventurous hues like Ash, Smoky Blue, Oxide Bronze Mica, Attitude Black Mica, and Platinum White Mica, allowing customers to choose a look that fits their personality. It will also come with a 5-year or 140,000km warranty, whichever comes first. Customers may reserve the all-new Land Cruiser FJ through www.toyota.com.ph/reserveLCFJ.
