BMW CE 04 is an electric city scooter designed for a new era

BMW ushers in a new era for urban mobility with the BMW CE 04, its latest electric city scooter.

The CE 04 sports a retro-futuristic design, reminiscent of how ’80s movies imagined futuristic vehicles would look like. The sharp, strong edges give a modern vibe while its elongated, long body with the floating seat screams retro.

The scooter comes in two colorways, the first of which is called Style Avantgarde. It dons sleek orange accents against the Magellan Gray Metallic, giving a sophisticated, urban look to the bike. Meanwhile, the Light White variant emanates a dynamic and liberal feel with its bright tones.

Plenty of power

Sporting an 8.9 kWh battery pack, the CE 04 can handle daily emission-free drives in the city and has a range of 130 kilometers. When its battery is completely flat, charging time will take about four hours and 20 minutes, as BMW says.

In terms of maximum output, the bike outputs 42hp, which enables it to go from 0 to 50km/h in 2.6 seconds.

Designed for day-to-day use, this e-scooter comes with three riding modes of ECO, Rain, and Road. There’s also an additional Dynamic mode, which enables the bike to accelerate at a swifter pace.

On top of that, this modern e-scooter is equipped with a 10.25-inch color screen on the handlebars so riders can seamlessly connect their device and navigate. There’s also a USB-C port for charging.

“The BMW CE 04 is our new electric star for the city. It combines an e-drive with emotion and motorcycling fun. The latest technology, and the best battery cells, which also provide power in the BMW iX. Just like the CE 04, all future new BMW Motorrad models for urban mobility will be pure electric.” said Oliver Zipse, CEO of BMW AG.
