Ford Philippines has shared more details about their upcoming SUV just weeks after confirming its arrival. The Ford Bronco will be available in one variant only called Outer Banks and this will be in a 5-door configuration. It will also come with the Sasquatch Package and start at PHP 4,998,000.
The Bronco is a behemoth that’s as large, if not larger, than your typical midsize SUV (think Fortuner, Montero, Everest). Unlike its batchmates in the industry like the Toyota Land Cruiser and Chevrolet Suburban, the Bronco rested for a few years and came back ready for the off-road straight from the showroom. You can even remove the doors and hardtop of this Outer Banks variant.
It will be powered by a 2.7L EcoBoost V6 engine that makes 335 horsepower and 555 Nm of torque, paired to a 10-speed automatic. Power is sent to all wheels via Advanced 4×4 with Automatic On-Demand Engagement. Goes Over Any Terrain (GOAT) Modes also allow the Bronco to match its performance depending on your driving situation.
The Sasquatch Package takes the Bronco’s off-road prowess to the next level. It consists of 35-inch mud-terrain tires, 17-inch beadlock wheels, high-clearance fender flares, and position-sensitive BILSTEIN shock absorbers. Add to that its 292mm ground clearance and 850mm water wading capability.
Inside is a leather-clad two-tone cabin in dark space gray and navy pier colors. It has powered front seats, dual-zone climate control, 8-inch digital gauge cluster, electronic parking brake, and wireless charger. The 12-inch touchscreen has SYNC 4 with swipe capability, voice recognition, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and 10-speaker Bang & Olufsen sound system.
Ford Co-Pilot360 takes care of the Bronco’s safety side. It features Lane Keeping Systems, Adaptive Cruise, Post-Impact Braking, and Evasive Steer Assist among others. You can also connect it to the FordPass app for other functions like Intelligent Oil Life Monitor, Vehicle Status, and Remote Engine Start/Stop.
The all-new Ford Bronco Outer Banks with Sasquatch Package will be available in 6 colors – Race Red, Cactus Gray, Eruption Green, Azure Gray (+PHP 20,000), Oxford White, and Shadow Black. You can reserve your own Bronco by going to ford.to/AllNewBronco with a PHP 30,000 fee that’s deductible from the total price.
As for the launch date, there’s no word yet. However, the 2024 Manila International Auto Show seems to be an appropriate place given they already shared a lot about this upcoming SUV.
