The Manila International Motor Show (MIAS) is gearing up to be a paradise for car enthusiasts and Hyundai aficionados alike, as Hyundai Motor Philippines (HMPH) has just announced the highly anticipated arrival of the Hyundai Elantra N sedan at the event. Scheduled to take place from April 4 to 7, 2024, at the World Trade Center in Pasay, the MIAS promises to be an exciting one this year.
For those unfamiliar, the Elantra N represents Hyundai’s foray into the realm of high-performance vehicles, offering a thrilling driving experience wrapped in the sleek design of the seventh-generation CN7 Elantra compact sedan.
Under the banner of Hyundai’s performance-focused N sub-brand, the Elantra N has already carved out its own racing legacy, boasting victories in prestigious competitions such as the Michelin Pilot Challenge, TCR Europe Touring Car Series, and the TCR South American Touring Car Championship. Notably, it clinched the TCR World Tour Driver’s Championship in 2023, cementing its prowess on the track.
At the heart of the Elantra N lies a potent 2.0-liter turbocharged inline-4 gasoline engine, delivering a staggering 276 horsepower and 392 Nm of torque in its global configuration. Capable of sprinting from zero to 100 km/h in a mere 5.3 seconds (with the dual-clutch transmission version), this powerhouse of an engine promises adrenaline-inducing performance for drivers craving excitement behind the wheel.
Enthusiasts attending the 2024 MIAS will have the opportunity to feast their eyes on not only the road-going Elantra N but also its track-bred sibling, the Elantra N TCR race car. Hyundai’s booth, located at the D4 section of the Main Hall and the North Wing in front of the main entrance of the World Trade Center, will serve as the stage for these high-performance marvels.
While specifics regarding the Elantra N’s Philippine-market specifications are yet to be disclosed by HMPH, anticipation is running high among enthusiasts eager to experience its dynamic capabilities firsthand. Once unleashed onto Philippine roads, the Elantra N is poised to rival established contenders in the high-performance sedan segment, including the Subaru WRX and the Honda Civic Type R.
In addition to the Elantra N, Hyundai will also showcase its EVs: the award-winning Ioniq 5 crossover and Ioniq 6 sedan. Joining them on display will be a lineup of other Hyundai modela, including the Creta, all-new Santa Fe, and the Stargazer X.
