Ferrari Portofino M comes out ready to race

In a launch held entirely online, Ferrari took the covers of the new Portofino M, the latest evolution of their 2+2 GT Spider heritage. It’s also the first car to be launched after Ferrari’s temporary closure due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The M in its name stands for “Modificata” which in Ferrari’s dictionary means cars that have undergone an evolution that significantly improved its performance. For the Portofino M that comes in the form of a new engine, gearbox, and an additional driving mode.

At its core is a 3.8-liter turbo V8 belonging to the engine line that’s voted as “International Engine of the Year” four years in a row. It puts out 611 horsepower and 720 Nm of torque, which is a touch more than its predecessor. Speed is moderated by a new 8-speed gearbox that’s a first to be installed in an open-top Ferrari.

Maximizing the powertrain is the addition of a Race Mode in the Manettino, which is another first for the GT Spider. Together with Ferrari Dynamic Enhancer, it ensures the best driving pleasure no matter if you have the hard top up or down.

Aesthetics-wise, the Portofino M sports a more aggressive front thanks to sculpted vents and sleek lines that leads you towards the familiar rear. Inside is a very driver-centric interior with premium touches all over, including ventilated and heated seats.

The Portofino M’s balance of power, premium touches, looks, and handling make it the perfect ride to unwind and rediscover yourself.
