Turns over 45 commercial vehicles to global logistics giant

A partnership of globally recognized brands is what the latest collaboration between a veteran transport and mobility provider and a highly respected logistics company can be described.

FOTON Motor Philippines Inc. (FMPI), the ISO-certified and one of the most established commercial vehicle brand in the Philippines, is scheduled to hand over 45 FOTON commercial vehicles to DHL Summit Solutions Inc. (DSSI) in a partnership focused on driving sustainability, high-efficiency logistics, and world-class operational excellence in the Philippine logistics sector.

“In logistics, reliability is not a luxury; it is the foundation. FOTON Motor Philippines has been in the country for almost 19 years, and DSSI’s confidence is a powerful endorsement of our commitment to providing reliable, durable, and efficient commercial vehicles to the Philippine market.” said FOTON Motor Philippines Inc. and UAAGI Auto Group Chairman Rommel Sytin.

“A Meeting of Global Minds” describes the momentous transaction, which goes far beyond a conventional sale. “This is no less than a collaborative alignment between FOTON and DSSI, a leading logistics venture between DHL Supply Chain and JG Summit Holdings Inc., in a unified aim to create a reliable, more sustainable, and efficient future for supply chain operations,” said Levy Santos, General Manager of FMPI.

Driving the Green Transition with EV Technology

DSSI has acquired a fleet comprising both FOTON light-duty (LDT) and heavy-duty (HDT) trucks. The light-duty trucks are full Electric Vehicle (EV) models (23 units of FOTON Tornado 3.6 EV), marking a significant stride in DSSI’s commitment to establish a sustainable logistics and carbon footprint reduction.

The EV trucks will be immediately utilized to transport essential and basic commodities, demonstrating the viability and reliability of electric commercial vehicles for high-volume, real-world logistics.

Global Recognition—Global Players

FOTON Motor Philippines is an 18-year veteran in Philippine logistics, having been the first Chinese car company brand to break into the country’s Top 10 automotive brands in vehicle sales—long before the entry of other Chinese carmakers. Aside from the 23 FOTON Tornado 3.6 EV trucks, FOTON also turned over to DSSI 22 units of its prime mover of goods—the GTL 6×4 Tractor Head.

Forging a partnership with DSSI validates FOTON’s vehicle quality and automotive technological advancements, particularly in EV commercial vehicles. Ranking 1st in China for commercial vehicle exports for 13 straight years and having sold over 11 million units worldwide, FOTON is not just a leading Chinese commercial vehicle brand, but a global brand with a successful track record in progressive markets worldwide.
