Daring art in motion: Nissan and Quiccs expand their creative collaboration at PIMS

In today’s culture, creativity knows no boundaries. Automotive design inspires fashion. Street art influences technology. Collectible toys become canvases for storytelling. At the intersection of these worlds is the continuing collaboration between Nissan Philippines and internationally acclaimed Filipino artist, Quiccs Maiquez—a daring partnership that demonstrates how design can transcend industries and connect communities through a shared passion for creativity.

First unveiled at the Nissan Festival in February 2026, the Nissan-Quiccs collab exhibition introduced a unique crossover between automotive culture and collectible art. By reimagining Nissan’s design language through Quiccs’ signature visual style, the partnership offered enthusiasts a fresh way to experience the brand beyond the road.

Recently at the 10th Philippine International Motor Show (PIMS), Nissan and Quiccs continued their creative journey with an expanded showcase that further explored the connection between mobility, design, and self-expression.

Building on the momentum from Nissan Festival, the latest chapter introduces new artworks inspired by Nissan’s featured electrified lineup. Each piece adopted the same distinctive colorways as its corresponding vehicle, transforming Nissan’s design philosophy into striking works of contemporary art.

The collection draws inspiration from four standout vehicles on display at PIMS: the Nissan X‑Trail e‑POWER, Nissan Kicks e‑POWER, Nissan Navara Pro Plug-in Hybrid, and the Nissan Primera EV. Through Quiccs’ artistic approach, each vehicle was reimagined beyond its role as transportation and interpreted as a character with its own unique personality.

Each vehicle presented a different creative challenge,” said Quiccs. “The X‑Trail e‑POWER has a refined and adventurous character, the Kicks e‑POWER feels youthful and energetic, the Navara Pro Plug-in Hybrid brings strength and capability, while the Primera EV represents a bold vision of the future. I wanted each piece to reflect those unique personalities while maintaining a cohesive visual language across the collection.”

The result was a collection that blurred the line between automotive design and collectible culture, showcasing how the same principles of form, color, and storytelling can inspire both vehicles and works of art.

For Quiccs, the collaboration represented an opportunity to explore the similarities between two seemingly different creative disciplines. “What excited me most about this collaboration was the opportunity to reinterpret Nissan’s vehicles through my own creative lens,” he said. “It’s interesting to see how the same design principles—shape, color, attitude, and storytelling—can exist in both automotive design and collectible art.”

While cars and designer toys may occupy different spaces, both are built around creating emotional connections. Whether experienced on the road or displayed on a collector’s shelf, great design has the power to inspire imagination and bring people together around shared passions.

For Nissan, the collaboration reflected a broader effort to connect with audiences through culture and creativity. “At Nissan, design goes beyond vehicles, it’s about creating emotional connections. Our collaboration with Quiccs celebrates creativity and self-expression, bringing together automotive innovation and contemporary art in a way that resonates with enthusiasts, collectors, and culture-driven audiences,” said Nissan Philippines President Yoshinori Kanazawa.

More than an automotive display or art installation, the Nissan-Quiccs collaboration was a celebration of creativity in motion. By bringing together automotive innovation and contemporary art, Nissan and Quiccs showcased the growing influence of Filipino creativity on the global stage and demonstrated how design could transcend industries, spark new conversations, and create meaningful connections. Through this unique fusion, the collaboration invited car enthusiasts, collectors, artists, and pop culture fans alike to experience mobility and self-expression from a fresh perspective. It also reinforced the idea that creativity has the power to bridge disciplines, inspire communities, and transform the way people connect with design and culture.
