Honda Foundation provides aid in General Santos

On June 8, 2026, a powerful 7.8-magnitude earthquake struck the country, severely affecting communities throughout the Mindanao region. The calamity led to collapsed buildings, damaged roads, and destroyed homes. To extend continued support and relief, the Honda Foundation, Inc. (HFI) reached out to the community of Barangay Lagao, General Santos City, where thousands of residents were displaced due to the major urban destruction.

On June 30, 2026, representatives from the foundation and over 20 Honda associates based in Davao personally repacked and distributed relief goods, including five (5) kilograms of premium rice each for 500 affected families. The operation was conducted in coordination with and supported by the local government.

Mr. Hidekazu Arai, President of HFI and Honda Cars Philippines, Inc. (HCPI), said: “We would like to offer our deepest sympathies to the victims of the recent earthquake. Through this donation, Honda hopes to remind the community that they are in our thoughts. We would like to help ease their burdens and we hope for everyone’s swift recovery.”

Members of HFI include Honda Cars Philippines, Inc (HCPI), Honda Philippines, Inc. (HPI), Honda Trading Philippines Ecozone Corp. (HTPE), and Honda Logistics Philippine, Inc. (HLPH). To learn more about HFI, contact (02)-8581-6700 to 6799 and 0917-578-8723.
