Bella Cańete is the youngest competitive drift driver

Bella Cañete is a 14-year-old Filipino motorsport athlete driven by focus, fire, and heart – breaking barriers as one of Asia’s youngest competitive drifters.

She started karting at the age of seven, building her foundation in speed, control, and race discipline before entering professional drift events as a rookie by 12.

Bella’s transition into drifting has been marked by standout results. In 2024, she was recognised as the first and youngest female drifter in Southeast Asia to secure back-to-back victories, earning Round 5 Champion and Top Qualifier honours, followed by P2 and Top Qualifier finishes in Round 6 of the Indonesian Drift Series Women’s Drift Challenge Amateur category.

Her 2025 season further established her momentum. Bella became WDC Pro-Am Overall Champion, five-time WDC Champion, five-time Top Qualifier, three-time Mixed Gender New Gen Champion, and earned a P2 podium finish. In 2026, she continued her progression in the Southeast Asia Drift Series, a Formula Drift affiliate, with P1 in the Pro Category Seeding Bracket, P2 in Round 2 Pro 2, and P4 in Round 1 Pro 2.

For Bella, drifting is freedom but it is also discipline. It demands control, lines, angles, preparation, muscle memory, and the mental strength to stay composed under pressure. Guided by the belief that “your only competitor is you,” Bella wants to inspire young people, especially young girls, to chase bold and unexpected dreams. Her message is simple: the track is for everyone, and difficult dreams are worth pursuing when you have the courage to try and the discipline to work for them.

Beyond the track, Bella is a student, a proud Filipina, and a young athlete with a strong sense of purpose. Through her advocacy initiative, AccelHERate Onward, she champions youth empowerment and community impact, supporting underprivileged children and encouraging young people to pursue their dreams with courage and purpose.
