Toyota Motor Philippines Corporation (TMP) has officially expanded its role as the Official Mobility Partner of the ASEAN National Organizing Council (NOC), extending its support from the 48th ASEAN Summit in Cebu to the upcoming 49th ASEAN Summit and Related Summits in Manila this November.
The extended collaboration was formalized through the signing of a supplemental agreement led by TMP President Masando Hashimoto and NOC Director-General for Operations Undersecretary Ma. Hellen De La Vega, alongside key officials from the Presidential Communications Office and Lexus Philippines.
Under the expanded corporate partnership, Toyota Motor Philippines through the Lexus brand, will provide a dedicated fleet of electrified vehicles to support the transport of visiting heads of states, official delegates, and dialogue partner representatives across Metro Manila. The fleet will feature Hybrid Electric Vehicles (HEV) from the Lexus lineup, notably the Lexus LS 500h and the Lexus LM 350h.
“We [at Toyota] view ASEAN as one strategic region. In Cebu last May, I was reminded of the remarkable potential of the 11 ASEAN Member States, and I was left with an even stronger conviction that the Philippines has exceptional promise as a regional leader,” said TMP President Masando Hashimoto.
“Under the theme ‘Navigating Our Future, Together,’ TMP is privileged to reinforce its support for this historic hosting. We are committed to providing seamless, dignified, and greener mobility that fosters regional collaboration and sustainable progress,” Hashimoto added.
The continued deployment of HEVs aligns with Toyota’s global multi-pathway approach towards carbon neutrality, combining refinement, passenger safety, and reliability with reduced environmental impact. In keeping with the Lexus philosophy of Omotenashi, Lexus Manila and TMP’s technical service teams will provide end-to-end operational support to ensure smooth, secure, and reliable fleet management throughout the international gathering.
The 49th ASEAN Summit serves as the culminating high-level assembly of the Philippines’ 2026 ASEAN Chairship, bringing together leaders from Southeast Asia and global partner nations. Through its participation, Lexus Philippines reinforces its commitment to providing reliable mobility support for the Philippines’ ASEAN 2026 Chairship.
Through partnerships such as this, the government is able to access world-class mobility solutions while ensuring prudent use of public resources, as all vehicles provided under the arrangement are on loan and will be returned upon the completion of the ASEAN 2026 hosting period.
