Harley-Davidson wants to go ‘further, faster’ with new touring bike duo

Harley-Davidson strengthens its refreshed lineup with a duo of Grand American Touring models that want to go further, faster. After launching the Sportster S toward the end of 2021, Harley-Davison of Manila adds the Street Glide ST and Road Glide ST into its range for the 2022 model year.

The HD Street Glide ST and Road Glide ST are touring motorcycles, both powered by the Milwaukee-Eight 117 V-Twin engine. It has the most displacement and torque available from a factory-installed, regular-production Harley-Davidson powertrain.

With its new dark-and-bronze finishes, the Milwaukee-Eight 117 V-Twin engine has a displacement of 117 cubic inches (1,917cc). It’s oil/air-cooled and makes 172 Newton-meters of usable torque at 3,750 RPM, ensuring that owners will feel a rush with every twist of the throttle.

A high-performance camshaft, a high-flow intake, and a high-performance exhaust have all been adjusted to improve engine performance. Moreover, dealer-installed Screamin’ Eagle Performance Parts Stage Upgrades from Harley-Davidson Genuine Motor Parts & Accessories are available to boost engine performance even further.

Street Glide ST & Road Glide ST

The Street Glide ST is made for the rider who wants to strafe corners in comfort. It features the iconic Harley-Davidson batwing fairing that holds the Daymaker LED headlights.

On the other hand, the Road Glide ST model combines the characteristics of a championship-winning race bike and the street-scorching power of the Milwaukee- Eight 117 powertrain. It distinguishes itself with its aerodynamic shark-nose fairing that houses dual Daymaker LED headlamps.

Both bikes come with a dark-themed aesthetic in Vivid Black or Gunship Gray color options. Accents are mostly black and Matte Dark Bronze finish, while the tank has a classic script graphic for subtle contrast to the dark finishes.

Moreover, Emulsion-technology rear shock absorbers have a single knob to adjust pre-load hydraulically for the best ride and control. Brembo brakes with ABS are standard, while electronic cruise control, smart security system (keyless), LED Daymaker headlights, a Boom! Box GTS infotainment system with a color touchscreen, two fairing-mount speakers, and a hidden radio antenna caps off the special features that the touring bike offers.

Also offered for both bikes are the optional Cornering Rider Safety Enhancements by Harley-Davidson. The collection of technologies is designed to assist the rider in maintaining the rider’s intended path through a curve. This technology package provides the following enhancements:

  • Cornering Electronically Linked Brakes
  • Cornering-ABS
  • Cornering-Traction Control with modes
  • Drag Torque Slip Control
  • Vehicle Hold Control
  • Tire Pressure Monitoring (TPMS)

Both the Street Glide ST and Road Glide ST sell for a price tag of P1,940,000. They are now available for viewing at Harley-Davidson showrooms nationwide, side-by-side with the Sportster S (P1,080,000) from the Sportster line and the Pan America Special (P1,480,000) from the Adventure Touring range.
