5 ways the new 911 Turbo S redefines performance

The new Porsche 911 Turbo S takes the iconic sports car’s performance to new heights, building on the 911’s winning legacy as a two-category winner in the BEST CARS 2026 readers’ choice awards by German automotive magazine auto motor und sport.

The Porsche 911 Turbo S has always occupied a particular sweet spot in the 911 range. It delivers supercar-rivaling pace without giving up the comfort, refinement, and everyday usability that have made the nameplate one of Porsche’s most enduring high-performance models.

The new 911 Turbo S takes that formula considerably further. Now available in the Philippines, the flagship 911 brings 711 HP, T-Hybrid technology, sophisticated chassis systems, and active aerodynamics together in what Porsche describes as the most powerful production 911 Turbo S to date.

Here are five features that show how the latest Turbo S redefines performance.

1. T-Hybrid takes the Turbo S to 711hp

The new 911 Turbo S pairs unmistakable 911 proportions with the performance of Porsche’s 711hp T-Hybrid powertrain.

The biggest change sits behind the driver. Porsche’s T-Hybrid powertrain produces 711hp and 800Nm of torque, using electrification not simply for efficiency, but as a way of extracting more performance from the 911.

The system employs two electrically assisted turbochargers, helping deliver more immediate response and stronger acceleration. The result is the most powerful production 911 Turbo S yet, capable of accelerating from zero to 100 km/h in just 2.5 seconds.

More importantly, the technology builds on what has always made the Turbo S special: enormous performance delivered with the immediacy and usability expected of a road-going 911.

2. PDCC keeps all that performance in check

The new Porsche 911 Turbo S features active aerodynamics, including an adaptive front spoiler and extendable and tilting rear wing, designed to enhance stability and efficiency.

More power demands greater control, and the new Turbo S comes standard with electro-hydraulic Porsche Dynamic Chassis Control (PDCC).

The system actively counteracts body roll during cornering, helping the 911 remain composed under hard driving while improving agility and stability. Its electro-hydraulic operation is made possible by the T-Hybrid system’s high-voltage electrical architecture.

For the driver, the technology works largely behind the scenes. The aim is simple: make the Turbo S feel more precise when pushed without compromising the ride quality and long-distance ability for which the model is known.

3. PCCB delivers serious stopping power

Porsche Ceramic Composite Brakes (PCCB) feature 420mm front discs, the largest fitted to a two-door Porsche.

The performance gains are matched by an equally serious braking system. Porsche Ceramic Composite Brakes (PCCB) are standard, with 420-mm discs at the front and 410-mm discs at the rear.

These are the largest ceramic brakes Porsche has fitted to a two-door model, giving the Turbo S the stopping capability needed to match its considerable straight-line performance.

The ceramic construction also reduces unsprung mass compared with conventional brake discs, while the familiar yellow calipers provide one of the Turbo S’s most recognizable visual cues.

4. Its aerodynamics adjust on the move

Look closely at the new Turbo S and much of its aerodynamic hardware is doing more than adding visual drama.

Its active aerodynamics include cooling-air flaps, an active front diffuser, an adaptive front spoiler, and an extendable and tilting rear wing. These elements adjust according to driving conditions, balancing cooling, aerodynamic efficiency, and high-speed stability.

In their most efficient configuration, the systems help reduce the Coupé’s drag coefficient by 10 percent compared with its predecessor. It is a good example of the Turbo S approach: even the bodywork is designed to contribute to performance.

5. A titanium exhaust saves weight — and adds sound

The lightweight titanium sports exhaust saves 6.8 kilograms while giving the Turbo S a more distinctive sound.

Then there is the part of the Turbo S experience that needs little explanation once the engine fires up.  A lightweight titanium sports exhaust system comes standard, saving 6.8 kilograms compared with the previous system while giving the flat-six a more distinctive soundtrack.

It may seem like a finishing touch beside the T-Hybrid powertrain and advanced chassis technology, but it speaks to the attention Porsche has paid to the entire driving experience. Performance is not only about numbers; it is also about how a car responds, feels, and sounds from behind the wheel.

Taken individually, each of these technologies makes the new 911 Turbo S faster, sharper, or more capable. What matters more is how naturally they come together.

With 711hp on tap, sophisticated chassis control, massive ceramic brakes, active aerodynamics, and a lighter titanium exhaust, the new Turbo S has moved the performance envelope forward once again. Yet underneath all that technology is the same idea that has defined the model for generations: supercar performance in a 911 you can still drive every day.
