Mitsubishi teases premium adventure with the Outlander PHEV

It’s not a new Montero. Taking center stage at Mitsubishi Philippine’s booth at the 10th Philippine International Motor Show is the second-generation Outlander Plug-in Hybrid. But it’s not ready for the taking yet.

The new Outlander boasts of improved power. It now has around 300 PS at the wheel thanks to a 22.7 kWh battery and a 2.4L engine. There’s also an All-Wheel Drive System making it more capable in and out of the city.

The cabin is clad in bright trims and uses the same layout as the current Mitsubishi vehicles like the Xforce. It has a digital gauge cluster, a huge touchscreen, and a physical shifter.

Mitsubishi didn’t share any price estimates for the Outlander but said it will come in August.

Beside the Outlander is the new Xforce GLX. This is now the base model of the car, sitting at PHP 1,119,000. It sheds a lot of key features in order to meet the price point, making it more attainable to Filipinos.

For one, the wheels are smaller (but still alloy) and there’s no more fog lights. Good thing they retained the now distinct headlight assembly of the Xforce.

The cabin also went through a lot of changes. There’s no more leather upholstery nor in the contact points. It now has an analog gauge, together with a conventional aircon system, and 4-speaker setup instead of the Yamaha system.

Beyond the vehicle displays, MMPC also prepared daily interactive programs, engaging activities, and special performances from well-known performers and influencers for people of all ages to enjoy throughout the event. More details on MMPC’s activities and event schedule will be announced soon through MMPC’s official social media pages.
