Suzuki finally joins the EV arena with the new e VITARA

Suzuki Philippines has officially unveiled the all-new Suzuki e VITARA at the 10th Philippine International Motor Show, marking their entry into the new era of electrified vehicles.

As Suzuki’s first global battery-electric vehicle, the e VITARA represents the company’s commitment to sustainable mobility while maintaining the practicality, reliability, and everyday usability that have defined the Suzuki brand. It also comes at the right time as Suzuki is enjoying a strong momentum in sales in the local market.

The e VITARA showcases the brand’s new “Metal Beast” design language that combines rugged appearance with modern styling cues. It has pronounced character lines, a coupe-inspired silhouette like the Fronx, and a distinct 3-point matrix LED headlights that give it commanding road presence. 

The cabin offers a modern flair centered around a digital cockpit experience. It has a dual-screen display, floating twin-deck center console, and a rotary shift selector. The steering wheel is also unique with its 2-spoke polygonal shape, enhancing forward visibility while improving ease of entry and exit. 

There are also soft-touch materials on key contact points, textured trim finishes, and customizable ambient lighting that contribute to an upscale cabin atmosphere. Occupants are also treated to a 3-tone leather bucket seats, while the driver’s throne offers 10-way power adjustment with ventilation function. Rear passengers also have the capability to slide their seat forward and back. 

It also has a 10.1-inch touchscreen display that has wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. It’s paired to an Infinity premium sound system with six speakers and a subwoofer. 

Suzuki also updated their popular HEARTECT platform for the new era. The new HEARTECT-e is the basis of the e VITARA that focuses on three key areas – structural rigidity, passenger space optimization, and enhanced high-voltage battery protection.

The e VITARA boasts of 174ps and 193Nm of torque, powered by a 61kWh battery. It can travel up to 475 kilometers on a single charge. In a real-world testing with the Automobile Association of the Philippines, the e VITARA achieved a 87.22 km/Lge (kilometers per liter gasoline equivalent), translating to an energy consumption figure of 9.8 km/kWh. 

Suzuki fitted the e VITARA with the Suzuki Safety Support. In addition, it has seven airbags, all-wheel disc brakes, Electronic Parking Brake, Brake Hold Function, and Dual Sensing Brake Sensor II.

The all-new Suzuki e VITARA will be available nationwide with a starting price of PHP 2,020,000. Full color lineup and full specifications will also be announced at a later date. Visitors at the Suzuki booth during the Philippine International Motor Show can experience Suzuki’s latest innovations and explore the brand’s growing lineup of vehicles that continue to deliver practicality, efficiency, and driving enjoyment for every Filipino lifestyle.
